LYS Day 2025

As we do, we're extending LYS Day to LYS Week here at SSYC. Why? Because why should we just celebrate local yarn shops for a single day? Let's extend it since our dyers and designers always have so much to offer! What's going on this week? New colors, free patterns, and even a sale on a sale!

First off, we have Madelinetosh's new LYS Day color, Dye Me to the Moon. You can find it and all these other LYS Day goodies in our Kits & Clubs section.

Market Magic scarf uses one skein of fingering weight. It's shown in the Bloom Baby Bloom colorway

Gosh, I love Dye Me to the Moon It's kind of pastel, but not too sweet. It's just perfection. You get a Market Magic scarf with it too, just ask. The pattern is for fingering weight yarn like Tosh Merino Light, Tosh Sock or Twist Light. If you'd like the pattern, just ask the comment/note field at Check Out, or if you forget just respond to your emailed receipt and ask me.

Vinea uses one skein of fingering weight color Bonaire in Tosh like Merino Light, Twist Light or Tosh Sock.

Dream in Color has released their new Mix Tape colorway, and we have that on Smooshy and Smooshy Cashmere. But it's also available with a bag and pattern in their LYS Day Kit! I have those all at the top of the page here, while supplies last.

This kit comes with the Terra Hue shawl pattern shown below. If you purchase just the skeins, you also get the pattern, so just ask for it like mentioned above.

Then, Malabrigo is giving away three free patterns with purchases. If you'd like one of these with your purchases this week, just ask in the comments or email as indicated and I'll email them back. The Felixstowe Cowl uses two skeins of a fingering weight yarn like Malabrigo Sock or Ultimate Sock but I'm betting if you just had one skein you could make a smaller/thinner version.

Barclay Hat uses a skein of super bulky weight Rasta or Caracol. These yarns are infinitely popular b/c they come in 150g skeins and the yarn knits or crochets up so fast that you can get a project finished in just 3 hours.

Bleeker Shawl uses two contrasting colors of a fingering weight like Mechita, Sock or Ultimate Sock. Shown here is Mechita in 005-Aniversario and 412-Teal Feather.

We also have the Love My LYS colorway from Emma's Yarn on all their bases we offer and minis. All can be found at the Kits & Clubs link.

Cascade Yarns is offering free patterns that use their most popular 220 Superwash Solids & Heathers (a light worsted weight that we offer all 100+ colors) and 220 Superwash Wave. There are three hat patterns, two are crochet and one knit. Just ask for them in your order comments or respond to your emailed receipt and I'll email them back.

In addition to the patterns above, I am personally gifting ALL customers the popular Chasing Dawn sock pattern with any purchase at the shop this week through Sunday. It takes a full sized main color and mini for toes and heels, so great for using up scraps if you don't have a mini. We have some great sets from Flock Fibre, or create your own from Emma's Yarn and Minis  Give me a few days to send yours to you via email, and if you don't get it three days after your purchase, just respond to your emailed receipt and ask me for it. Sometimes our emails get blocked.

Finally, we'll have two days of 10% off our already discounted Sale Yarn section. Wednesday at 10am through Friday at 10am you can use coupon code LYS2025 to get more off items in that section only. Of particular interest could be the gradient Spiral Grain (shown below) at the end from Urth Yarns. No, the coupon code won't be applied if you order before it works in your cart at 10am EST on Wednesday. So if you order items before that time (like I think many of you will if there are just a few of an item you don't want to sell out before you get it), just know that the code won't be applied after the fact. It will work from 10am EST on Wednesday, April 23 through 10am Friday, April 25. Hope this helps alleviate any confusion!
