Last month, I shared that we'll be offering coupon codes for the first part of the year for a few lines of yarn. We're changing things up a bit, bringing more yarn lines in and expanding others, and giving a break some. Last month, we shared that we're letting Hedgehog Fibres go, and this month we're giving you a deal on Miss Babs and Fiberstory! By using coupon code Winter25 you can get 25% off the Miss Babs and Fiberstory yarns we have in stock. That coupon code also works on the bit of Hedgehog Fibres we have too, til it's gone.
It's worth noting that the quick pay methods like Paypal and ApplePay can breeze you through so fast that you miss the coupon code field. I recommend adding things to your Cart, then going to the Cart to add the coupon code ahead of time. And if you get your e-mailed receipt and realize that you forgot to use the code, just email me (Allison) and ask me to apply it for you after the fact. Coupon codes can't be applied to previous purchases, and items purchased using the code are final sale and aren't eligible for our return policy.
Babs (shown below) and Sarah (shown above) make yarns that we love and NO, we are not saying goodbye to these lines. We actually have a big shipment coming from Babs next month before her summer festival season gets crazy and we have just a few skeins here and there from our last batch that we're letting go of.
Both Miss Babs and Fiberstory are lines that you don't see many places. They both sell a lot at fiber fairs and festivals and don't make a lot of time for yarn shops. I can't wait to get a refresh from both in the near future, so enjoy these skeins I have now at a discount.
Many of you have asked if the changes in importing are the reason that I'm letting go of Hedgehog Fibres, and if this will affect other imports as well. Nope. We are just saying goodbye to them. And it could be that we bring it back to the shop in a few years, as I do love their colors. 5 years ago importing was a total headache and more costly, and it could be in the coming months and years that it is again. But I made it work and I'll continue to order other imports like Life in the Long Grass, La Bien Aimee (we have a BIG order coming soon from them- yay!) all our German sock yarns and others. I'll continue to import yarn as I can from Canada, Ireland, France, UK, etc. And I'll continue to support US dyers and even expand what we offer domestically. If there are more tariffs imposed on SSYC when we import goods (there already are, but things may be increasing as I'm sure you've seen), then I still plan on supporting all these dyers and families I've had close relationships with for years. I'll restructure our pricing, I'll figure out ways make it work again. Afterall, you can only get Irish yarn from Ireland. And you can only get German sock yarns by importing them from Germany. There isn't a substitute for these we don't want there to be. We love these yarns and they bring us joy. I want to support the families and dyers all over the world that make our craft what it is.
On that note, check out our latest Canadian import, the tools and accessories of Fox & Pine! I'm so glad to be adding these joyful goods to the shop today!
Cool ways to store your tapestry needles, and fun cable needles.Digital row counters in fun colors and adorable needle toppers and stitch markers. All available here.
I hope you find something to make your winter more colorful! If you're like we are, you're stuck at home because of the ice storm in the Midwest. We do hope to be shipping before the holiday weekend, but please know that orders now through the weekend might not move much until Tuesday b/c of the weather and USPS holiday. We typically ship within 24 hours, but this weather combined with the holiday could mean your parcel takes time to get out the door, and time to move once it does.
Oh, and if you haven't signed up for the newest yarn club yet, it's 3/4 sold out! Don't hesitate if you want in. Details are on this blog post.
