Jacquie Krauskopf

Merry Christmas to all!
I am working on socks of course! I also want to get into making Izzy dolls and hope to make at least one in the next couple days to put places for children to find. Each one will be unique.
I am also planning for next years projects: what can I learn or do better in my knitting?

Joanie C

I still have 5 projects on the needles: 3 are hats that are destined to be New Year's presents. I do participate in Christmas, sure, but I've learned over the years that people often feel a bit of a let-down right afterward, so I tend to do my big presents at New Years. 2 of the 3 hats are using Rios from my last order with you: there is nothing better than making loving gifts using a yarn that brings me so much pleasure. Happy-Merry, everyone!

Carolyn

I will be working on my Alpine Meadow Shawl which I started ages ago, but haven't been able to work on this year because we adopted two new kittens in May and they won't let me knit when they're awake! Merry Christmas! šŸŽ„ā›„

Karen Novakoski

Iā€™m working on two sets of socks. They are for me and both self striping.

Lynn B

I am working on a cross stitch Christmas
stocking for a new grandchild. I love seeing it come
together, but miss my knitting. So, I am knitting a
dishcloth on the side. Lynn

Teresa

Iā€™ll still be working on gifts! I made a last minute decision to make socks for the in laws so Iā€™m furiously knitting to get them done!

Annette

I am finishing up a pair of socks for my boss. She wonā€™t be returning to the office until the 31st, so she wonā€™t know I am late getting this done! šŸ§¦šŸ˜€

Trudy

Iā€™ll be working on a shawl. And if I get bored maybe start a pair of socks, my Go To!,

Abby J

Honestly? Not a clue. I have plenty of stuff for socks, but I also have a shawl Iā€™ve been (very) slowly working on, and I have the materials to make a pretty spring top for my daughterā€¦ but Iā€™ve never done a top before so it makes me a little nervousā€¦

Toni

My family won't be celebrating until the weekend, so I'm working the next 2 days. And church, and wrapping, and cleaning, and decorating the tree that was put up last night, and... I have a "brainless" baby afghan in the works when I get a chance to play.

Jessica

Socks in Urth sock twins in the Christmas color way. I'm on the second sock!

Susan

All of my holiday present knitting is done (yeah!) but I still have requests for socks and mittens that need to be knitted. I wonā€™t get back to knitting items for me for several weeks yet. But, I really enjoy making things for others and seeing them light up when they open the package!

Yvonne

It will be a quiet XMAS for me. I am thinking am going to work on either an afghan I started a while ago or work on a scarf of some kind. I do have a few ideas of stuff I can work on including knitting socks of some kind. I am off from my job till Friday so I could see a bunch of knitting of somekind getting done and or started. I think my problem is I have too many ideas.

Andrea

I will be knitting a lightning-fast pair of bulky mittens today for a last-minute gift and will then begin in earnest on a test knit I'm excited to be doing--a dk shawl. I also have a sweater in progress that I'm making for a friend--easy rounds of stockinette that I may work on while I watch Elf with the family tomorrow. Happy holidays to all!

JoAnne

I am looking forward to knitting on Thursday. Today and tomorrow will be decorating, wrapping & cooking. And eating!

Emily

Happy Holidays! I have a sock on the needles (of course) plus I'm knitting a blanket for a baby that's due in January (Baby Blanket Squares) and I might continue repairing a wool sweater for a friend (Swiss darning to reinforce the elbows plus re-knitting a small hole).

Dana Snyder

I gave up on the gifts so I will have to have those hats ready for next year. I wanted to make about 20 hats and finished 8. lol. It was a busy semester and I didnā€™t get to knit as much. Right now, Iā€™m working on advent socks. Iā€™m only on stripe 9, and I need to assemble Gnana, my gnome. Also blanket squares - on April. I really got behind. I have a sweater Iā€™d like to finish from a couple years ago. Itā€™s Vivi by Marie Greene with Rios. And I wanted to actually do the hiberknitting shawl this year! Year of gnomes starts January 1st so I need to get ready for that. Just knitting for myself now! I have some ends to weave in for a blanket, last years advent socks which I found completed in with my blanket yarn supplies. So hopefully, Iā€™ll have some relaxing time. My parents are here now till Friday!

ElizabethD

Today I am finishing a small gnome Santa that has to be wrapped and ready for tomorrow - I have just the arms and assembly to do, so not too bad. I had 3 months to make this, so of course I started last night. Tomorrow - socks or a hat, with no deadline. Ahhhhh.

Bonney

After knitting lots of Christmas presents I'm going to spend the next couple of days knitting new washcloths for myself. Quick and mindless!! Merry Christmas to everyone!

Denise

I cast on a hat last evening to work on while visiting family tomorrow. Also am taking yarn to swatch for a sweater I want to start by New Yearā€™s.

Dana Snyder

Also, I gifted a pair of opal socks to my niece that were supposed to be for me. lol. Theyā€™re the 6 ply I think. I have annother skein to make annother pair for me. And I finally wound my New Years Eve yarn from last year! The black sparkle yarn with the pink mini. I got 2 skeins to make DK socks!

Charissa

For the next few days my full attention will be on family time. This is a great for me. Made sweeter by the fact that many have traveled far to celebrate the holidays together.

Hannah

Socks!!!!!

Donna W.

I'll be finishing a pair of socks for my stepdaughter. Then I plan to begin a pair that I am test-knitting that have a completion date of mid-January.

Diane

the knitting will be going into hibernation for the next few days because of hanging with family and friends.

Anne-Marie

Working on my dark academia sweater, and maybe a gift item that needs to be done by 1/9 but I've gotten bored with.

Stacy

I'll be working on The Classic sweater. It's almost finished!

Kathy

I will go back to working on some socks I cast on months ago.

Nicole

I donā€™t think Iā€™ll have time to knit - maybe a few rows of a dishcloth, if anything. Today Iā€™m working on baking buns, and tomorrow we go to my brotherā€™s so Iā€™ll be spending time with my nephews. Hopefully Iā€™ll have more time for knitting after Christmas. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!

Rachel Horner Brackett

Wrapping! I always procrastinate on it!

Pamela

I am working on another pair of socks for my son. This pair is my first attempt at a contrasting cuff, heel and toe. My son loves knitted socks. He kept coming into the living room to see if I had started them, lol. After this pair of socks, it will be mittens for me.

JackieLemon

Simple knitting for now. The Musselburgh is perfect no stress knitting. Even better than socks

Jody

All the gift knitting is done - hooray! Iā€™m working on a pair of socks for me that have been waiting far too long for finishing!

Beth

I have one more holiday get together after Christmas, so I'll be making some colorful reindeer over the next few days for my niece and nephew. If I finish those with time to spare, I have a couple of events coming up in January and a list of critters I need to make!

Barbara J.

Finishing a mitten ... and several thumbs!

Kim Baker

I am knitting a Flannel scarf with some handspun yarn my daughter made for me.

Pat

I have finished knitting a poncho
Bostwick by Jennifer Weissman
Now I need to mattress stitch the shoulder seam. I will be doing that over the next several hours.

Joyce

I will be working on Susanā€™s scrunchy scarf in a gorgeous Malabrigo Arroyo I recently picked up from the shop. I may also pull out a pair of gift socks Iā€™ve been working on FAR too long.

Marta Stoneman

I have to finish an adorable little "May I Borrow This Please" shawl using 2 skeins of Noro Silk Garden for a belated Christmas present. Love this yarn and can't wait to see how the project turns out.

Merry Christmas to everyone at Simply Sock. You have become my favorite on-line store and my goal is to visit the brick & mortar in 2025. With love and good wishes from AR.

Gaylyn

I'll be working on the Thea Colman sweater I started for myself last winter! I had put it aside to knit multiple baby blankets and a gift blanket for my sister and brother-in-law.

Donna

Mittens - I have 3 pairs that only need thumbs and working on 4th pair second mittenā€¦. If i donā€™t finish I will wrap them and given them the unfinished mittens and will take back and finish by weekend. Itā€™s a tradition that someone gets something not finished.

Maybe next yearā€¦.everything will be finished by Christmas. Haha

Ann

Keeping a sock on the needles for sanityā€™s sake. In a spare moment, doing a few rows is soothing.

Hilda C

I'm finishing up a pair of socks for me. Weaving in the ends and there were many. These are my advent socks and I used the "roll the dice" method to pick color and the number of rows for each day. Lots of fun.

Thanks for hosting this contest. It's fun and I know it takes time. I appreciate it.

Ronda Priest

I have advent socks that are nearly finished, so working on those. I also have a sweater test knit that is a lot of fun.

Lisa B

I have to finish a Sarah Schira gnome for a gnome-loving friend and decide on my next easy, mindless knitting project. I will work on myself by taking a much-needed nap.
Thank you doing this, I look forward to it yearly. I hope your holidays are lovely and your upcoming year is your best yet.

Cindy

I am finishing up a lovely new gray sweater for myself!

Paula

I finished my Christmas sweater the Fern and feather last night. I always have a pair of socks on the go. All the gifts are finished.

Haley McCaffery

Now that I am done knitting gifts, i am planning on making a few knit trees and stocking ornaments for my tree for next year.

Emilie

I'll be working on a couple pairs of fingerless mitts for my sister. She's going through chemo, and she's having cold sensitivity, so I thought the mitts would help. Might start on a pair of socks when I'm done.šŸ˜

Laura Guilliams

Iā€™ll be finishing up a pair of socks for myself and then working on a cozy cowl for myself!

Stephanie

Im working on the cupido cowl for myself. Its such a beautiful and easy pattern to knit up.

Lori Stubben

Knit hats are done- started a winter break sweater for me. Searching for slouchy boot sock pattern with leftover DK.

Jenn M

I will be finishing the crochet firefighter for my kid, it's going to be a boxing day gift because I know it won't be finished before Christmas.

Pat Phythian

Today Iā€™ll be sewing on the quilt Iā€™m piecing and knitting a little on the socks that are on my needles, finishing the Christmas novel Iā€™m reading, and baking cookies. Tomorrow, itā€™s Christmas breakfast with my older sonā€™s family, then back home for my younger son and I to fix our Christmas dinner and have a quiet Christmas at home.

Sarah

Iā€™m working on the raglan increases for a DRK Gib at home and hauling around mindless socks for family gatherings.

Sarah

I want to finish my sock weight sweater that I've been working on forever. I have half a neckline of icord.

Susan

As usual Iā€™m trying to finish a gift, this year the last knitted item is for my sister-in-law. Itā€™s the ā€œSorceress Scarfā€ knit in herringbone stitch. But I still have to prepare dough for homemade buns, make a broccoli salad, make hamburger soup for my sick husband (who will miss Christmas dinner at my sisters), and finish wrapping a few gifts. So my sister-in-law will probably get her gift with the needles still in it, sadly it wonā€™t be the first time this has happened. Every year I vow to start in January, but something else always needs to get done first. This year will be no different, as after the holidays I need to start a Celtic blanket for my nephew and his fiancĆ© who will be getting married in 2025 (she is from Ireland, hence the Celtic pattern). But hopefully something for myself for a change too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Marilyn

I will work on a pair of socks for my husband -The Little Black Socks pattern from Summer Lee.

Linda F

I'll be blocking socks I just finished, starting a new pair, as well as finishing Summer's teeny tiny tree sock ornament :) I didn't have a spare set of size 1's so they are on 0's and boy are they tiny! I will also inevitably be doing some last minute errands :/ Thanks so much for the fun of these contests! I've really enjoyed reading them before bed. Merry Christmas!

Julie

I will be knitting a couple socks I hope to get finished by the end of the year, but I will have limited knitting time due to being with family. A good trade off :)
Merry Christmas and thanks for a fun contest!

Donna T

I will be working on my Rasta mittens. My partner kept leaving the door standing open while he was going in & out doing yard work. He insisted I was nuts for begging him not to because moths might get in. Well ALL of my socks & mittens have holes in them. (They seem to especially like Hedgehog Fibres with LITLG & Malabrigo close contenders.) Iā€™ve knit 3 pairs of socks (Iā€™m retired & wear Uggs around the house so thatā€™ll do gif now) but havenā€™t finished the mittens. If I get them finished, Iā€™ll start a matching hat.

Carmie Anderson

Still working on socks. Hope to start a pair of mittens.

Robin

I am way behind in my handknitted holiday gifts. I will be finishing up a pair of socks for my son, start 2 hats, and hopefully get another pair done before the new year.

I honestly thought Inhad this but life happened

Kate

I just finished socks for my husband and cast on a holiday pair for myself! Iā€™m knitting the rye light pattern which I love the fit of!
Happy holidays everyone!

Daisy G

Happy holidays! Iā€™m finishing up the socks I started last month and then I will start working on a shawl.

Gail L.

Merry Christmas to you all ..... I will be working on an Opal yarn "Incredible Blanket" (free pattern by Purl Soho) - it's a lovely pattern and mine is thick and cosy because I'm using Opal yarn held double.

Jeannette

I spent yesterday, and will spend all day today, helping my granddaughter finish the afghan she's making for her mother. It's crooked, and the squares are poofy, but it's a very special present that I have the joy of helping to create.
My personal knitting can wait!

Susan

Once I finish kitchnering a pair of slipper socks this afternoon, the gift knitting is complete!

Then I'll knit one of the other projects I have already on my needles - 4 afghans, 2 pairs of socks, a pair of fingerless gloves, 1 cowl and one shawl. Or maybe I'll cast on a new shawl with the yarn Santa is bringing. What can I say, I am not a monogamous knitter - lol.

Happy Holidays!

Jennifer Philhower

I finished all my gift knitting, wrapped and some were shipped. On the needles are a pair of self-stripping socks for my granddaughter's next birthday. After that I will knit for myself, socks of course.

Geraldine Scott

I finished up a pair of socks last night, so I guess that leaves a Musselburgh hat...great mindless knitting for company time!

Karina

I'm working on a pair of gloves for me. I'm not knitting gifts for people this year. Happy Holidays!

Sally

Gift giving is finished so today is a day of relaxing before all the Christmas celebrations tomorrow! Iā€™m working on a second sock right now but may switch to doing a new pair of Christmas Eve socks tonight after church with the family!

Tamara

Merry Christmas!
Iā€™m working on socks with the beautiful Christmas sock set I ordered from you - itā€™s from yarn love yarn and you threw in some stitch markers, which were so appreciated, thank you! Iā€™m originally from Europe and now living in Florida and missing the cold and my family a lot. To be honest, it doesnā€™t feel like Christmas. My husband is working most of it too. So I ordered the sock yarn to get myself into tne Christmas spirit/feeling one stitch at a timeā€¦I will be casting on in 3ā€¦2ā€¦1

Susan

We celebrated Christmas last night. Both boys and their girlfriends are heading to the next celebration. Iā€™m thinking about starting a new sock even though I have 2 on the needles. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

Judy

I will be working on my Christmas Stocking - "Oslo" by Anne Hanson, "Knitspot". The one for DH, in the same pattern is finished, and he thought we should have matching ones. Although what possessed me to think I could do a sescond one before Christmas, I have no idea. It is a lovely pattern, but not a quick knit.

MarthaO

I am shaping the toe of a second sock now so my mind is full of ideas of what I'll be knitting next. I do have a garter-stitch triangle shawl on the needles but like to have two WIPs at all times.

Happy Holidays to all!

Donna Gerber

I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to start knitting next. I could pick up one of my WIPs, but am perhaps I'll start one of the sweaters for which I've already purchased the yarn. Since I just finished the one gift I was knitting for a Christmas gift, I'm not feeling obligated to work on a specific project. My next project is just for me.

Jennifer

Iā€™ll have my hands full with family gathering and cooking so probably no knitting for me until the day after Christmas, but then Iā€™ll get to relax and work on the second sleeve of an almost done sweater.

Selma

Iā€™m working on my second ā€œCorbisā€ sweater, having finished a whole slew of cowls to donate for our local Historical Societyā€™s Christmas market. It is decidedly NOT mindless knitting. šŸ§¶

Teri P

I just cast on a test knit sweater that will get most of my attention. Iā€™ll also be working on a Sophie scarf for my wool sensitive sister; Iā€™m using Berroco Comfort Sock.

Sandra Sprouse

I would love to be knitting for the next two days, but there is still so much to do!

Julie

Likely I won't be knitting at all, but if I can carve out some time, I will work on my shortie sock I started a few weeks ago

Elaine

Still have a scarf gift to finish. Then I hope to put together my granny square sweater so I can get back to knitting socks.

Lisa

Happy Holidays~ I think I will do a Christmas Eve sock cast on!

Ashley Mattes

I hopefully won't be working on anything the next few days. I need a break!

Nancy Mazgajewski

I am not finished with my socks for my husband... ugh..... That's okay he has lots of goodies from me and I will wrap up what I have completed. I've done it before - it's my MO.

Kelli W

Probably some in the downtime, but mostly be enjoying the time and playing with the kids while off of work.

Karen Judge

While Iā€™d usually say socks, Iā€™m spending the next 2 days on the spirit of Christmas. That special cake, delicious southern sweet potato casserole, ribbons and bows for the boys and memories to last a life time.

Dana

Finished the Xmas knits last night. Working on a Forth hat and some houndstooth socks.

Laura

Iā€™ll be knitting socks in Christmas yarn so theyā€™re ready for next year!

Heidi G.

I willbe finishing a Multidirectional Scarf, today, hopefully. Then I need to ge to the heel flap and gusset of a (second) sock. I also swatched for a pullover (weeks ago)...if I remember what needles I used (I know...take notes) I hope to cast it on.

Sarah

I will be working on spinning for a cowl and knitting a pair of socksā˜ŗļøšŸŽ„

Carolyn Zewe

We are having a family Christmas celebration today so Iā€™m busy helping with cooking and cleanup today. I didnā€™t try to knit any gifts but I am working on a few projects. I hope to cast on a pair of socks later when things calm down.

Mary W

The next couple of days will be super busy so not much knitting time ā€¦.sigh anyway probably grab a few minutes working on a shawl in progress. Merry Christmas everyone!

Lily Traveler

Looking forward, this morning I cast on a heart pattern that eventually I will put a few together for a valentines wreath ā¤ļøšŸ¤šŸ’— too soon? šŸ˜

Natalie

Iā€™ll be working on just enjoying these days with family!

Brenda

I will be baking, cooking, and wrapping gifts.

A. Martin

Today is a flurry of projects. Finishing the picot trim on a shawl I'm giving as a gift, knitting the turtleneck on my dog's new sweater, and finishing up a couple of "cuddle buddies" and "blankies" for several of the new animals I've just taken in. Family descends tomorrow and I look forward to seeing the response to the knitted hats, shawls and socks I've made as gifts thanks to the lovely yarn in your store. After all the food and festivities are over, I have another shawl and a pair of socks to begin--the needles are always clicking!

Carol

I need to get off my computer right now to go put some duplicate stitches on a gift hat, wind in the ends, and get the darned thing blocked. Fingers crossed that I can get it into a gift bag and dropped onto a doorstep across town this evening. Then I can return to another gift knit, a small scarf, but it's not for Christmas, so no pressure. But before that, it'll be time to put the decorations on the tree first, which DD strung with lights late last night.

Rebecca

Baking up a storm, but trying to save a few minutes for spinning sock yarn.
