Yesterday our Midsummer Sale went live, and it included a slew of skeins of Madelinetosh's Tosh DK for just $20. Find them all in the Sale Yarn section while we have them (marked as MT Limited DK "Color"). Seeing all these gorgeous skeins caused shop manager Heather to go down the Tosh-Pom rabbit hole and create all these different pairings of Madelinetosh colors and our exclusive pom poms so you can make all sorts of beautiful Copycat CC Beanies, Ridge Beanies & Woodnote Beanies.... all the things.
Keep in mind that you don't have to use the Tosh that's currently in the Sale Yarn section. That is a special deal to us from Madelinetosh for our 18th birthday that's priced to move. So if you don't see the color there that you wanted, look at the regular Tosh DK section because it's likely there, but as a full priced skein. And if the pom that I've linked below is sold out, go here to see them all b/c I'm just linking one size and the pom you want might be there in another size. Or we could have another pom that's super similar.
Knitting for someone who loves blues? Or perhaps a hat to go with a white or pale gray coat? Look at Amnesia and Blue Husky (would also look cool with Blue Ice).
Want neutrals? Coffee Grounds and Coffee Creamer
Emerald and Pine seem to be very popular this year. Pair it with gray for Dead Calm and Pine Tree.
Do you live for bright color? Or do you have a kid who you want to make a bright hat for so you can easily see them at the playground? When my kids were little I would totally do that- dress them in highlighter yellow t-shirts in the summer, and bright hats in the winter. That way I could see them amongst the dozens of other kids at the park. Neon Crush and Neon Rainbow (or White w/ Pink Tips) are the way to go.
Dusky purple is perfect for almost all of us. Penumbra and Pansy.
I love the modern pastels of Texas Tulips and Pink Tinsel. ACTUAL tinsel accents this pom!
Go for speckles AND tinsel with The Force and Black Tinsel. I mean, I might have to do this one myself.
This is a stunner of a combo, isn't it? Trip Wire and Carrot Cake.
This pairing evokes romantic, autumnal walk. All the warm feels with Weighted Blanket and Retro Flower.
This is a vivid combo that I'd wear all winter long. It's You Do You and Fireworks.
Finally, Heather said that many skeins looked awesome with our Calalilly poms. Shown here is Calalilly with Boredom, Winter's Rest and What Up, Beach?
Of course, once Heather went down the color combo rabbit hole, I did too. So here are a few that I will add to her beautiful suggestions.
West Texas Sunset with Purple Brown
Mercantile with Luxe Sterling. Have you even seen Mercantile at another shop? It's one of my faves and I don't ever see it elsewhere! Of course, I think it's pretty obvious that I can't control myself when I order Madelinetosh colors for the shop, as we regularly stock over 300 colors...
Make something full of Christmas Cheer with Mint Condition and Snow Bunny. Mint Condition - another great colorway you're not likely to see elsewhere.
OK. I'm stopping now. I've now obsessed enough over these combos and now I want to cast on one of them! I hope you've enjoyed my and Heather's creations!
I hope this helps you find a fun, quick knit - something to make for yourself, or things to make for those on your upcoming holiday gift list. I love gifting hats with pom poms because they are super popular, and you can really customize yours to match a winter coat or go with a theme. And we've done all the color matching for you here, so you don't have to wonder if the color of skein you've chosen goes well with the pom.
