Simply Socks Yarn Co. Blog: 17 Years!

Today is the first day of our week long in-person celebration of Simply Socks Yarn Company's 17th Anniversary!

And we won't be stopping with just this week, we'll be celebrating online all summer long like we do with contests, sales, gifts, limited edition colors, special SSYC Hat Sets and more. I can't wait to share with you everything that's coming. It's a ridiculous amount of gorgeousness - much more than I've ever offered in an anniversary summer before. We're even doing a 17th Anniversary Sock Yarn Club that will debut quite soon, and new sale yarn and free pattern with purchase starting next week! As always, this blog is the fastest way to find out everything new that we're doing.

Since we haven't been able to do an in person birthday party since our 14th, we decided to spread it out to a full five days, Tuesday thru Saturday, this week in our shop in Fort Wayne, Indiana. That way, we get to spread out the busy time instead of one big packed party, and we get to treat you in-person shoppers to five days of goodies!

Tuesday, 5/31 10am-2pm - Sale on a Sale! We're giving you an extra 10% off our Sale Section this day.

Wednesday, 6/1 10am-2pm - Gift w/ purchase! Choose between our cute ProcrastiKnit zippered project bag and Yarn Stash bag.

Thursday, 6/2 10am-2pm - 17% off three US made dyers Urth Yarn, Dream in Color & Fiberstory

Friday 6/3 10am-2pm - 17% off three imports from three different countries - Cosy Posy of Canada, Olann Mills of Ireland and Qing of London

Saturday 6/4 10am-4pm - Cookies from the Cookie Cottage & free stitch markers

And I wanted the shop to be extra festive this year, so I had local balloon company Pop Pop Balloons come and really deck out the shop. Come and take pictures of yourself and/or your friends in the big balloon arch and marvel at all the color! Check out yesterday's instagram if you want to see a bit of the set up.

I can't wait to share with you all what I have in store for our busy summer. I have worked with some amazing dyers and makers to bring us some super special things to treat you to. In a time when yarn shops are closing and owners just don't want to change to keep up with the ever changing landscape of post-pandemic retail, my team and I are working diligently and creatively to continue to earn your support and loyalty. I hope that my commitment, and that of my team, shows in the service we provide, the selection we offer and the price of our fiber goods. We really like what we do and I am supremely grateful that you are with us in this. That you continue to support my shop, my family and the families of dozens of dyers and makers whose life's work it is to craft goods with integrity and quality.... it means the world. You've supported us all through a pandemic, and a very tumultuous two years, and I hope that we have supported you in ways that matter too. Thank you, THANK YOU.
