This is the time of year when Americans pause and consider how thankful we are for who and what we have, and when I think of the past year (which has been pretty awful, unfortunately) I can't help but feel grateful for where I am. In the midst of a pandemic, I have health (I can walk again and haven't had COVID), I have the love of my partner and children and many family and friends, and I have work that allows me to be of service to others and hopefully bring others a lot of joy. No matter the obstacles and hardships I've encountered in 2021 (and, oh, they are a many, have I said that yet? oh, wait...), I have so many more ticks in the plus column than the minus, and for that I'm grateful.
I'm ever so grateful for you all as well. You allow me and my team to be of service to others, you share a passion for the same craft we do, and you choose to support us in this ever growing knitting world. I'm so proud that after 16 years we continue to grow and serve.
My staff and I will be taking some time off around Thanksgiving and weekend, so that we can enjoy our families, eat tasty food, and feel a bit of normalcy. We will not be open to the public on Small Business Saturday, but instead will have our normal in-person shopping rotation as always. Every other Tuesday and Saturday.
I remember last year my own family events were just me and Terry and the kids, and now that we are all vaccinated (and adults are even boostered!) we feel safe in spending time with our extended family again this holiday. So while I do think I will be able to get the Friday Preview on the blog of next Monday's holiday goodies, please don't be shocked if you see me post about it Saturday instead. I really want to spend time with my family, and stopping to photograph yarn and post really does take a big chunk out of my day. So perhaps just expect that Friday preview to happen on Saturday instead.
Thank you very VERY much for your part in what we do. There isn't a day that I don't feel grateful for being able to make a living doing what I value. My staff is amazing, the dyers and artisans I work with are out of this world, and YOU are fun and inspiring. THANK YOU.
Thanks for all that you and your staff do, I hope you all enjoy a nice, long, relaxing holiday weekend with family and loved ones, and savor every moment of being together. Work can wait…….we, too, will be busy with loved ones/cooking/eating, and can keep our hands occupied with the projects we already have on our needles and in our closets/stash.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all and your families and loved ones!! Enjoy all those blessings!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, too! My two younger kids get their second shots next week, so we're sticking with our own household until two weeks past their second dose. The extended family goes all over the place, and I want my kids as safe as possible.
I'm cooking up a feast later today!
I have a full-time job and I freelance, so I'm doing some work over the holiday weekend.
I'm thankful for your shop- you get such nice yarn, your prices are fair and your customer service is excellent.
Enjoy your time off, it's well-deserved!

Happy Thanksgiving, Allison! Thank you so much for everything you do to keep this community together and knitting and crocheting, and going the extra step! Enjoy the weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving to you & all the others who work to make our squishy yarn packages make it to us in almost record time, Allison. And I appreciate your introducing us to new dyers. While we are responsible for your success, it is really due to your efforts &, most importantly, your dedication to customer service. I only buy yarn from another source if you don’t carry it. We will be having a small celebration with just the 2 of us. Even though we are fully vaccinated with boosters, we are both very high risk & not taking any chances. We’re hoping that things will improve enough by spring that we feel safe flying to the west coast. We haven’t seen the grands in almost 2 years (Christmas 2019).
