It's been a busy week here as we've received a lot of yarn.... unpacking, counting, stocking, getting photos ready, populating the website... all so you can get your hands on some really really cool stuff! I can't wait to cast on a new pair of socks this weekend in one of these. I've yet to decide. What's new at SSYC? Take a look!
We have three new Regia collections from fabric/lifestyle/knitwear designers! Take a look at what's new from Dee Hardwicke (colors inspired by her love of Wales), Kaffe Fassett (inspired by his colorful fabric collections), and Arne and Carlos (inspired by their Norwegian sweater collections and the landscape of Norway).
If you love gradient yarn, but want more control over how each stripe plays in your project, you'll love these Zauberperlen. Each is 7 63-yard mini-balls and they look so super cool, don't they? And look at this pattern for it. WOW.
Then, we have received our first batch of holiday hues from West Yorkshire Spinners! From top/left: Silent Night Sparkle, Fairy Lights Sparkle, Holly Berry Holiday, Candy Cane and Christmas Robin. All have patterns that come with them, so if you want the free pattern that comes with each, just respond to your e-mailed receipt and I'll e-mail it back. All are available at this one link.
Gosh, I swear I have more to share too, but for the life of me I can't remember with just one cup of coffee in me! I do hope you see something that makes you want to take some time for yourself, enjoy some stitches and feel a sense of inspiration and accomplishment. I've found this last week or so to be therapeutic. I've made more time for knitting and myself, and it's allowed me to feel more able to be there for others. I often forget that if I don't care for myself first, I can't care for others. An empty cup has nothing to fill others' cups.
Those Zauberperlen minis are giving me thoughts! Might need to get two sets and make one of these!!
