Next week, likely Thursday (I'll post next week to let you know) we'll be offering you the last of our 15th Anniversary Summer Knit Kits, the Butterfly Blossom Knit Kit! This one features an awesome skein of BFL Sock from Mineville Wool Project, a superb hand made and fully reversible linen canvas bag from Mommy Sews, and hand made stitch markers. Here's just a little tease of what we'll be offering - showing you my own ball already wound into a cake and ready to knit. Gosh, it's pretty.
What else might you like to add to your cart to qualify for free US shipping at $100? I'm expecting the Tweed Me Sock I've been raving about to arrive here and if all goes well I'll have it ready for you next week. Did you see how shop manager Heather is knitting her test skein of Tweed Me Sock in Prickly Pear? She's holding it alongside a skein of Tenderfoot yarn (color 123-Oasis) to make a worsted weight crop top and I love how it's coming along, don't you? Not in the mood for a crop top? Many people are just making it longer. And there's a fingering weight version too. And a kids one!
I've almost finished my pair of shorty socks in the Frida color of Tweed Me Sock. I used a bit of Hedgehog Fibres in a mini skein I had for the toes and heels. I love the traditional look of tweed with the mod mint and hot pink. And I rarely (if ever?) knit shorty socks, and they were a really great use of the yarn and my time. I have enough yarn leftover to knit another pair of short socks and because they have just two inch legs, I save the time it would take to knit another 4 inches per sock! I didn't use a particular pattern- just my own normal sock pattern I make for myself and made the leg 3-4 inches shorter.
Last week, I shared the Dyer Collection from Madelinetosh, and I wanted to show you one of their pics of how the color Sunup knits up. I believe this is knit up on Tosh Merino Light, but I also have it on, Tosh DK and Twist Light. It's now sold out on Tosh Sock. The other colors in the series so far at Ametrine, Sunday Drive and Late in the Day.
I want to thank you all again for the wonderful response to our National Parks Yarn Club. I'm seeing so many names that I recognize and a lot of new people too. I can't wait to share with you some of the awesomeness that we have coming, including a special new-to-us imported dyer. If you haven't yet joined in, the price of the club includes half price shipping until September 8th. If we still have club spots available after that, it goes up by $9. In just three days we've sold the anticipated spots so I've already added extra spaces. The club ships in mid October, November and December.
