The first of our 15th Anniversary specials is now live, and that's 80+ colors of gorgeous High Twist DK in the Sale Section! What a super selection of colors so you can dream and stash and come up with combos that will keep you knitting and crocheting. We definitely need that, especially during this pandemic. And yes, a lot of us have plenty of stash to keep us going, but it's really nice to find special deals like this on such a versatile, hand dyed yarn that you can keep on hand for years if needed until you find its purpose. This is a one-time deal, so once it's gone it's gone.
What can you knit with this? This is a soft and sturdy DK weight superwash merino that it's great for all sorts of winter accessories or sweaters. It would be super as an heirloom blanket (either full size or baby). I'm not a sweater knitter, so I'm going to grab one or two of a few colors for winter scarves and hats. I think a pale color (like Celadon perhaps) would look wonderful with a white or cream jacket this winter.
To make this celebration even more awesome, I'm giving you TWO free patterns with your High Twist purchases through June 15! All you have to do is purchase some High Twist in the Sale Section and I'll e-mail you coupon codes to use on Ravelry for the Courser Shawl and the Cafe Cowl. These are both by one of my fave designers, Jennifer Dassau. Give me a few days after your purchase to get these to you. If you don't get the pattern codes by the time you get your yarn, please make sure to add service@simplysockyarn.com to your Contacts, or e-mail me to let me know you're missing yours. Sometimes things end up in spam folders for odd reasons.
The Courser Shawl is heavy on texture, which looks great with the layers of color that Madelinetosh applies on colorways like Alizarin, Earl Grey, Margeaux and more. It's also reversible, meaning it looks good on both the "right" and "wrong" sides. It's a nice, larger size too, and can be made even bigger as the size is customizable. I'd grab three skeins in one color for yours. Perhaps four if you want a really big one.
The Cafe Cowl has a classic houndstooth look, using a slipstitch pattern. So it's quite simple and is a great way to combine two colors you like together. I like the idea of a bright, modern version with Wino Forever+Gracenote or Electric Rainbow+Onyx.
If you like colorwork sweaters, you might consider a Caitlin Hunter design. Her Soldotna Crop and Sturgill Sweater are popular and if you are unsure if your chosen colors will work well together, just ask. We are always happy to help.
Want more color ideas? Good! Cuz I couldn’t resist.
I hope you know how much we appreciate you around here. You've kept us going in a very hard time when other small businesses are really struggling. We are able to operate safely by social distancing (just one or two of us at work at a time- there's only four of us, afterall) and are still able to care for our families while getting a paycheck. It's a big deal and we are supremely grateful!
Thank you in turn for all your hard work and exceptional service! You four are what make Simply Socks a wonderful & successful company.
My yarn orders from you have been a very welcome treat amidst a lot of stress these last 10 weeks— so thank you, from the bottom of this very drained essential worker’s heart.

Loved the Clue board yarn. So colorful. For socks? What is the length of a skein. I love making socks and looks like they would be a fun pair
