It's the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day! We're celebrating (virtually of course) in the shop by offering you 10% off all Urth Yarn this week. All you have to do is enter the coupon code UrthYarn on the Check Out page. You can also add it on the Cart page after you enter your first item if you don't want to forget. Find your Cart by clicking on view/edit Cart (on a desktop computer) or by clicking on the little cart image at the top on a phone or tablet. Then just click the Add Coupon button and copy/paste UrthYarn (with the U and Y only capitalized) and you'll see 10% come off all the lovely Urth Yarn! We JUST started carrying their DK and worsted weight stripes yesterday, as well as Monochrome (which are subtly striping solids) and Harvest which uses natural plants/roots/seeds to dye the yarn.
I've knit up a pair of socks and a Sockhead Cowl in this yarn color 3018 and I LOVE IT. It's such a simple, addictive knit. The pattern is comforting and simple and the way the yarn stripes makes you want to keep knitting to see what's next. We have knit up samples of all the stripes on the website with each color, but the stripes all depend on the circumference of the project or the number of stitches the striping pattern is stretched over. If you want to really see how the stripes perform in your chosen weight or project, Ravelry can give you a good idea with the finished projects. Here's an example of the worsted weight striping projects on Ravelry.
I'll blog later today with more color ideas for the free Breathe and Hope pattern if you want to check back and see. We've received dozens of e-mails asking for help with colors, so please give us a little bit of time this morning to get back with you on all those. We love being your personal shoppers, but we do want to get it right, so it takes time. Especially with social distancing.
*Just a reminder that I'm committed to blogging nearly every day during this time (instead of the typical 2-3 times a week) to connect with others. Please do comment and share with me here if you like! You'll see the typical yarn updates and shop tidbits, but likely also a bit more family and personal stuff.
You have so many beautiful yarns and I think I’ll love the yarns I picked for my shawl.
