I took a bit of time off for the first time in a month, so thank you for allowing me a bit of a blog break. Here are a few photos of what we were up to this weekend.
Henry's chosen "desk" to do his school work.
We took a really long, quiet hike at a county park this weekend and the wildflowers were in bloom. It was such a wonderful surprise.
I was considering making a second DK weight Phi shawl in the Work Sock (from Tosh, up later today for you at a special price) and wanted to see if I'd have enough using just one skein of each. So I weighed my completed shawl (in LITLG DK Andisol and Oxidized) above (I had to use two skeins of each color) and the yarn I wanted to use next below (larger skeins, so just one of each). I had just 10 grams less than I would need so decided to knit a different shawl instead. I've started this one and I really like the colors together (Wash House and Farmhouse White). Since I used a sport/DK weight yarn I went up two needle sizes to a US 8.
I finished this scarf using a mini skein set from Six and Seven Fibers (we will get more for you).
I hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend. Please tell me three things that made up your weekend. Mine were napping, hiking and cooking.
*Just a reminder that I'm committed to blogging every day during this time (instead of the typical 2-3 times a week) to connect with others. Please do comment and share with me here if you like! You'll see the typical yarn updates and shop tidbits, but likely also a bit more family and personal stuff.
Such nice photos. This weekend was Zoom, food and Knitting. We had 3 different Zoom get togethers with friends and family. My husband made pork chops and baked potatoes for Easter. And, I opened my Easter kit I ordered from you and started on some new socks!

This weekend was spent putzing, doing house stuff - knitting, reading - taking walks - a short grocery run - a stop at Popeye's for dinner to take home, television watching, talking to my sister...

My weekend was sleeping, eating, & Facebook (& Messaging). Spent quite a bit of time messaging with my younger daughter deciding which needle storage case to get her her birthday (this one: https://www.etsy.com/listing/770189894/deluxe-knitting-needle-case-for?ref=shop_home_active_11&frs=1).

I got out in my garden and transplanted some lilies. I was able to try the newly-released DoubleTree by Hilton chocolate chip cookies recipe - I can't eat anything with added sugar and am gluten-free due to autoimmune disease, but my three kids and husband are enjoying them. I also posted on my civic association page and shared six bags of assorted craft supplies with other families in the neighborhood via porch pickup (no contact). One lady left me a jar of homemade jam as a surprise! I gave away some leftover yarn, some pattern magazines, cross stitching stuff, sewing thread and scrapbooking stuff. I was happy to discover how many crafters there are in the area!

Picking violets in my community garden plot, video chats with college friends and with my family, and ate a mini apple crisp I made earlier in the week.

We watched a few movies this weekend since the weather wasn’t very nice. It was very windy and rainy. I cooked and knitted. I did get out for a run one day. It was a really great weekend! I’m working on Painted Bricks with all HHF and some potlucks from SS! It’s really bright and is making me happy!
