It's true. Heather, Rachael and Lauren really do make the best sweaters. If you've been in the shop on one of our open days, it's likely you'll see them in their awesome hand knits. Yeah, it could be awhile before we are open to the public again, but til then I thought I would share some of their finery with you.
I've shared many of Rachael's sweaters with you over the years. They are stunners. Her most recent one is Hinterland by Jennifer Steinfass. She used two colors of Tosh Merino Light. I can't recall the exact colors at the moment, but since we have over 200 colors in stock right now, I'm betting you could find a couple that you really like. And if you aren't quite sure if they go together, you can always e-mail me at serv[email protected] to check first. I like the idea of doing TML for the main color and then TML+Glitter for the detail work. The slight amount of sparkle would be a really neat effect. I like Astrid Grey with Blusteau, Conference Call with Fathom, Winter Wheat with Rust Belt.
Lauren knit up her Breathing Space sweater in a couple colors of Poste Yarn Select Sock (colors we don't have any more), but if you looked through our Tosh Sock, I'm betting you'd find two colors you like together. Also look at Alegria Sock and Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles.
And for those of you who were looking for the perfect sweater pattern for some of the 150g skeins of Dream in Color Colossal Sock we had in the Sale Section (expect more colors starting tomorrow and throughout the summer), take a look at what you can make with two colors like Heather. Isn't her Elfmail amazing? We also have the Swift Yarn called for in the pattern too.
Since we won't be seeing anyone in person for awhile, I'll try and share what we've been making and wearing. Please do tell me what you've been knitting this week and leave me a link in the comments too to the pattern if you can so others can take a look.
*Just a reminder that I'm committed to blogging every day during this time (instead of the typical 2-3 times a week) to connect with others. Please do comment and share with me here if you like! You'll see the typical yarn updates and shop tidbits, but likely also a bit more family and personal stuff.
I’ve been making swear word wash cloths and working on my Starflake

Hi Allison, Hope you and your crew and families are well. Heathers sweater Elfmail, is that worked from the top down in one piece?
I am working on a Brioche Learning Mystery KAL (scarf) and the Odyssey Shawl by Joji Locatelli.

I am alternating between mitts and a scarf. Switch up when one gets boring.

Hey, this is Heather, and yes the Elfmail is top down in one piece, and it's just a mix of knit and purls, with alternating stripes, so no fancy stitches! It's a really nicely written pattern.
