To me hats are a good alternative to socks for on the go knitting. I’ve thought of using fingering weight sock yarn doubled in lieu of DK. I’ve had my eye on that Tenderfoot yarn. Is it soft?

Thanks for asking, Donna! It's not as soft as Malabrigo Rios, but it works well for hats, socks and the scarf I'm making.
Well, I don't know if it's fair to call it "not as soft", but it's grabbier- not as smooth. Has a bit of "tooth" that more "rustic" feeling yarns have. So it's certainly soft enough, but I do notice a difference in texture between it and Rios. Rios is the ultimate in soft and easy care though. Not much compares to it, especially the great price.

What is your scarf pattern? I'm always looking for a new one. Thanks!
