This Valentine's Day I wanted to bring back one of the fave sock patterns we've had designed over the years, the Sweetest Heart Sock by Lara Neel. Lara designed this for a Valentine Knit Kit we did nearly 10 years ago, and everyone really adored this pattern. And since it looks so nice with a subtle speckle, I asked Color Queen Kayanna of Stitch Together Studios to create a speckle that would pair well, and she knocked it out of the park with Besamé, which means "kiss me" in Spanish. I've always loved Placido Domingo's version of Besamé Mucho, so this is an homage to that.

Isn't this just perfect?
It's wonderful on its own, or it can be completely over the top amazing with a coordinate toe and heel (in a basic sock, as a coordinate toe wouldn't show of the heart in the toe of the Sweetest heart pattern) in one of these colors, Purple Lake or Permanent Rose on Stitch Together Studio's Smooth Sock. Like in a Kallara Shawl.
Also take a look at Besamé with Hedgehog Fibres Sock colors Plump and Purple Reign. Put all three together in an Assana Wrap.
Or Life in the Long Grass' Fine Sock in Lush and Rose Garnet. These are all wonderful ideas for adding a bit more color for toes and heels, or putting two colors together for a larger two skein project. Or throw all caution to the romantic wind and choose two or more solids to go with your Besamé! I like the
You'll get a copy of the Sweetest Heart Sock pattern with your purchase of Besamé. (And I'm even offering the patterns free with any purchase next week, so check back if you want the pattern but not this particular yarn). If you want the pattern sooner than I mass e-mail it out (usually four days after your purchase), just respond to your e-mailed receipt of your Besamé order and I'll e-mail it back. Because I can understand not wanting to wait until I mass e-mail it out after next week, if you want to get started on your Besamé sock sooner. Be sure to add [email protected] to your contacts because otherwise our mailings with the patterns might be designated as junk or spam.
Next week we'll also have our Valentine Knit Kit. Here's a little preview of that (with a fully reversible box bag). Details to come here on the blog on Friday.
Oh, and lest I forget to share, our shawl cuffs are back! These beauties sold out in just a couple days when we had them in late 2019. We have a local artisan who crafts these leather cuffs for us, and at just $15 each, they are a super deal. It's half the price of comparable ones if you search around. I'll keep them at this price for as long as I can. They really are nice to have on hand for when you want to wear a shawl but also don't want it sliding off your shoulders.
