Pat

I spent a good part of this year working on Crown Wool which is 12 colors! I have happily finished it and love it. I have been gifted 3 skeins of Three Irish Girls for Magical Thinking so that is next on my list

Julie

So, last January, I was lucky enough to meet Stephen West and take one of his classes. I’ve always been afraid of making the “wrong” color choices, and Stephen really helped me get over that fear. His advice was, “Add as many colors as you want, and if something doesn’t “go” with the others, add more colors because it just needs more friends.” He also helped me pick out 4 colors to knit his Slumber Shawl. I’m *almost* done with it, and I can’t wait to show it off to Stephen when he comes back to Black Mountain Yarn Shop this January. ❤️

Claire

I'm currently test knitting the porcelain shawl. A triangle brioche shawl.

Haven't had much time for knitting lately, and what time I do have is taken up with a blanket I am making for my son, so the answer to the question is, sadly, "no"!

I have knit a couple of different multicolor shawls, the Crown Wools was a favorite. I have a least one on my needles now. they are alot of fun!

Lorraine Chan

I'm working on a shawl right now. It's Use the Force by Kristen Ashbaugh-Helmreich that was a Star Wars KAL. The yarn is two different colorways that were special dyed for the project; a blue-green for light side and black-red for dark side. It's good timing because I' probably be done with the shawl in time to wear it to SW - Rise of Skywalker.

Lara

I knit the Spindrift Shawl by Helen Stewart in a bright pink with a white speckled stripe and contrast color. I love the way it turned out. The pattern was great and the colors are so cheerful. https://www.ravelry.com/projects/LaDiDa2u/spindrift-shawl

Sarah Peschell

I have not knit a 3 colour shawl yet because, well, with 3 very small humans in my life, small projects seem a whole lot more attainable. And it's nice to finished project every so often.

Jaki

I haven't knitted any shawls this year because I have been trying to finish my first sweater. To break up the knitting though, I have started a two color crochet moss stitch shawl.

Rebecca

My last multi-color shawl was in May 2017, and so I can't call it "recent." It was a fun project, though -- the Leftie, in a rich red with stripes and little short-row leaves in five different jewel tones. Made from a kit.

Jen

I haven’t ever knit a shawl yet...I just started knitting in February. I don’t even know where to start with shawls.

staci

Even though I have several shawl patterns, I’ve never knit one.

Alecia Helton

The Casapinka Local Yarn store shawls.

Sherri

Sadly, no. Never enough time.

Grandma M

I knit Slow Curves, Fading Point, and Butterfly/Papillon this year.

Wendy

I have finished two Drachenfels and am on the last clue of a 5 color shawl as part of the Carolina Waves MKAL. I love all three!!!

Faith

Not lately. My last shawl with three colors was a patriotic shawl I designed this past summer: Let Freedom Ring. It can be found here: https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/p/let-freedom-ring-knitting-pattern-by-distracted-knits

Nicole

I have been looking at some 3 colour shawls like “a girls best friend” and the “suburban wrap”, I keep picking out different colours for them but I can’t commit. So I just continue to knit sweaters and socks instead!

Marilyn

I'm looking forward to knitting Mosaica shawl by Amanda Schwabe. It takes 3 colours and I have them picked out already. I've done the 2nd Avenue by Amy Miller which was a tremendous stash buster. And I've knit Embrace by Meg Gadsbey. Very easy.

Heather A

I haven’t knit any multi skein shawls lately, mostly because I don’t have the time/stamina to commit to larger projects while dissertating. Larger projects will have to wait until I’m finished. I did knit a multicolored cowl (my own pattern) out of a set of minis early last spring...but My current projects are mostly mindless things like socks.

Patty McDonald

I put my "Find Your Fade" shawl on hold when I found out I would be a great-grandmother in April of next year. I knit a baby blanket, "Hungry Horse Blanket" from Polka Dot Sheep for a girl, and then found out it is a boy. So I am finishing a boys blanket now for Jack Alan, my first great-grandchild!!!

Ludistitcher

I knit very few shawls and I wear them even less often, but I love the color combos for cowls or sweater ideas.

Donna

I didn’t knit any shawls this year. I have been concentrating on sweaters. I did take some breaks (of course) and I am just about finished with a 12 color cowl called The Land of Sweets Cowl using an Advent Calendar I purchased and I love it!

Brenda

I made an "All You Need" scarf by Heidi Kirrmair for my daughter in grey, yellow and black(Hufflepuff colours from Harry Potter), I loved the fun construction and she loves the finished product!

Wendy Chase

I started the Hundred Acre Wood shawl by Helen Stewart about a year ago, but I keep putting it down to do other projects. I have to follow the pattern carefully and I don't always have time for that kind of concentration. It's my first shawl ever, and I have yarn and patterns for a few more. Maybe by the spring it will be done!

Marilyn

I’ve recently knit Rainbow Warrior by Cassapinka which uses two different colors and slipped stitches-so fun! I’ve also knit Free Your Fade by Andrea Mowry which use three skeins.

Patsy Coats

I just finished the Color affection Shawl for my friend Jean.

Barbara

I knitted one shawl and lost it the first day I wore it. I never wear shawls and didn't miss it until three weeks later!

Kimberly Cantler

Not 2 or 3 but 6 mini skeins I picked up at Maryland sheep and wool.

Amanda

I made a Match and Move shawl - it's cozy and very large, but I find the shape a bit hard to wear. Still on the search for the perfect winter "wear-with-every-coat" shawl/scarf!

Marsha

No shawls in 2019 for me. It has been a sweater, hat, and sock year. In 2018 I made Lilli Pilli and Blaise Shawl designed by Ambah O'Brien.

Kate Greenwood

I knit Goldfinch by Andrea Mowry. I’ve knit that pattern many times with different yarns because I love the variety in the sections and also the FO size. The most recent one is my favorite color and yarn combination so far!

Karen

I have not done a three color shawl, although I have purchased the yarn to do so. When?

Kaia

I haven't knit any shawls but I tried 2 color socks. I'm bot much for shawls but I have one from Josh Ryks all purchased to make as a gift when I find the time, but to be honest I'm a little daunted by it

Audra L

Just finished a Lilli Pilli shawl/scarf. The striped portion was a bright slightly electic blue and a very pale, almost white, grey blue. The lace portion is bubble gum pink. It is a very 80s looking piece. Can't wait to block it and wear it.

Also have a wonder woman shawl in process with a rusty red and a mustard gold.

Rosanna Wallace

I love knitting 3 color shawls. My favorites are 3 color shawl by Joji Localelli, Mookari by Ambah O’Brien, and I made 2 Suburban wraps by Ambah.
I also completed the Find Your Fade with 7 colors.

Susan

I haven’t made a shawl in years, just too many sweaters

Tara

I haven’t knit any shawls for a while. With my first grandchild being born this summer, I’ve been knitting baby things!
