As soon as next week we will have the new History collection from Opal Yarn. I really like the thin stripes interspersed with mottled black and grey, don't you? I especially like 9702 and 9704, but I can see how any of them would be an addictive knit as you keep on tinking on to see what's coming next.
Then, at the very end of the month I'm expecting the Claude Monet collection. I'm told it has cleared US Customs and is now being sorted through and getting ready to ship to yarn shops throughout the US. As soon as I am assured that the half-ton of this I ordered is on its way to us, I'll offer preorders of the whole collection below retail price (and free US shipping). And then once the collection arrives here I'll offer single balls/colors for immediate shipment, just like any Opal collection for as long as it lasts. I'll share more timeline details as soon as I have them. I can tell you before I even see these in person that 9686 is going to be the first on my needles. I can't wait!
And if you're waiting for more hand dyed yarn from German dyer Cathrin Walk of Walk Collection, that's on its way too! We received the DK weight yarn for the first time ever, and we're now waiting on restocks of the Cozy Merino Singles and Tough Sock.
Galaxy and Cosmic Chaos are two of my faves from this batch. Definitely hat worthy.
Want more German yarn? Let me know who your favorite German dyers are and I'll look into it. Just e-mail me at service@simplysockyarn.com.
Hi Allison - this is the most beautiful yarn yet! I love Opal yarn and I can't wait!

9684? I'd have thought you'd go for 9680 cuz of the green
You like green. Like I like purple
They all go so well with the paintings.

I love the History collection. Normally I go for the brightest colors in the batch, but in this collection I'm drawn to the subtle tones in 9705 and 9706, and I like 9702. And I must have the entire Monet collection. Keep the Opal coming! Also, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the Online Supersocke in the lineup.

Wow! This is the best yet! I agree with you on all 3 Opal yarns - those are my favorites too. I like just about every single Monet colorway but I guess that’s not surprising since I like impressionists & he & Van Gogh are my favorites. I wish they had done one of his winter scenes. I may just have to get the entire Monet collection. The Walk DK yarns are gorgeous! I just noticed a knitting book on my kindle that I had completely forgotten I had. It has a couple DK shawls. I’ll have to look at them again & match one to one of the Walk yarns.
