Last week, Joji Locatelli released Spector, her latest sweater design which utilizes a fade color set in fingering weight.... something that we definitely specialize in. Not only do we specialize in fingering weight, but we carry well over 150 colors in Madelinetosh Merino Light, which is the yarn called for in the pattern. So we have plenty of colors to help you pull together the perfect fade combo.
The sweater is a circular yoke pullover with a textured pattern- trellis like stitches interlock and change as you make progress from the top down. Its designed in XS through 5XL and utilizes four to eight skeins of Merino Light, depending on your size.
Here are just a handful of the color combos we put together in the shop. If you see something you like, or find a color please feel free to put in your order. If see a color or two you really like, or if you want to change something you see below in some way, we are always available by e-mail at [email protected] to help you add something different and be your personal shoppers. We field e-mails all day every day and really enjoy helping you find what you need.
Tosh Merino Light + Glitter in Antler, Time to Pretend, Cenote and Esoteric. You could also do this in Twist Light, Merino Light or Tosh Sock. Or combine the Merino Light with the Glitter to get just a little glitter in your sweater. And if you haven't used a glittery yarn before, you don't notice a texture difference in this. At least I don't. It's just as soft as the non-glitter.
How about Tosh Merino Light+Copper (this Copper sparkled version is limited edition, so not available for long) with Wildflowers, Berlin, Oak and Joshua Tree. You could easily sub out a skein or all in non-glitter Merino Light or do the whole thing in Tosh Sock too. In Tosh Sock we often have more than 200 color to choose from!
How about a little speckle starter with Merino Light in Birch Grey, Conference Call, Aura and Flycatcher Blue?
In Merino Light, here's Time to Pretend, Well Water, Wash House, and Dr Zhivago's Sky. Again, consider putting in one or two colors in the Glitter base (which is interchangeable with the original Merino Light), or doing it all in Twist Light or Tosh Sock if you prefer a plied yarn.
Want something more vivid and springy? What about Life in the Long Grass sock yarn in Lichen, Rosegold, Rebirth and Meraki? Also available on Singles if you prefer something that's just one ply.
And finally lets give Hedgehog Fibres a little love too on their Sock Yarn base with Ferrum, Nutmeg, Raku and Harvest. All these are usually available on their Skinny Singles base too.
If there's a color scheme you were hoping to work with, and not sure what to do, just e-mail us the one or more colors you like and let us help you figure out how to go from skein to skein. E-mail [email protected] and I'm pretty quick about getting back with you and happy to help!
I have a love hate relationship...I love opening up ornaments and getting surprised with them and how my house feels so cozy afterwards. The cleanup afterwards I could do without. I love the little things my kids have made over the years.
