Did you see?? I added two new dyers to the shop last week! I shared Spun Right Round, and I kinda snuck up Artfil without telling you, but it's definitely been noticed.
Artfil is made by Yana and Stan Petrov in Quebec. They specialize in natural yarns, hand dyed with care for the environment. What makes their studio unique is that they employ sustainable, environmentally and socially responsible practices from the source of the wool to the labeling of the skein. Artfil doesn't dip or soak yarn to dye it, but instead conserves water and energy by basically airbrushing each skein, building layer upon layer of color, and steaming to set. This uses 80% less water and 60% less energy to dye the same amount of yarn than any other conventional dyeing method!

I connected Yana and Stan when I was at TNNA earlier this summer (the needlearts tradeshow) and I really enjoyed talking with them about their business and their passion for what they do in an environmentally responsible way. And what I really like is that their methods don't cost you and I more. They are showing that using less energy and less water can help keep the cost of production down and still produce amazing hand dyed yarn.
I have it on their Belle Sock and Solo Singles. Do give it a try!

Here are a few pictures of their yarn displayed at TNNA this year. Isn't this stunning all together?
Looks like a fabulous display!
