Saturday was SSYC's 13th Anniversary Party, and woah was it a doozy. It was so wonderfully busy that I got to take just two pictures. Yep, that's it. The cookie table before it got busy and an Exploration Station made by talented Tori from her fingering weight leftovers. Yummo to both of those!
So let's get our online summer of celebration started with a contest! It's been a wonderful 13 years here at SSYC and to kick off our online party, I'm going to give away a $100 online gift certificate to one lucky, randomly chosen commenter. Before noon EST on Friday, June 1 leave me a comment here on the blog telling me what your favorite purchase was this year from SSYC and you'll be entered to win. And if you are new to us or haven't placed an order this year, take a look and tell us what you'd most like to order today. Or tomorrow. You might want to wait until tomorrow because *hint hint*, May 30 is a FREE TOTE DAY. Details on that on tomorrow's blog.
We will be celebrating all summer long with more contests, sales, Knit Kits (these include bags and goodies) and Sip & Knit Kits (this is yarn paired with a mug), free gifts (like tomorrow's tote or other awesome stuff coming later).... basically we are partying in a big way! We just want to thank you for your part in helping us grow over the past 13 lucky years and show you that we will continue to share the fiber love and inspire you with amazing artists, talented craftspeople, and do what we can to fuel your passion for fiber arts. We know you can shop other places, and we appreciate each and every time you share us with your friends, comment on Instagram, connect with us on Ravelry, or purchase yarn. You are made of awesome and I hope that you allow us to serve you for many more years!
I simply LOVE the bright vibrant colors of sock yarn that you carry! I am new to knitting socks, and have been using a super wash wool blend. I would love to order some merino wool, because bragging about how wonderful the completed socks look and feel will make others jealous. This action will potentially result in Simply Socks seeing an increase of sales from all of my envious friends:)

It was my first visit to this yarn store. Now I’m a fairly happy person on a daily basis (probably because knitting keeps me sane) but once I opened the door and entered this magical place...I found myself with a giddiness that comes only when ones eyes are experiencing eye candy! I walked away with 4 skeins of beautiful yarn to make socks, shawls and more socks! I will certainly coordinate my visits when I go see my daughter in Fishers with a stop in Ft Wayne on one of your open store days!! And by the way, the yarn helpers were extremely helpful in guiding me to the correct yarn I needed for my projects!!!

Money has been tight so I haven’t purchased anything this week year. But if I had a gift certificate or some random yarn money, I’d be looking to buy some Primrose or Life in the Long Grass.

I haven't ordered from you in a while, yarn diet. My favorite thing I've ever ordered from you was a wonderful merino superwash in a grass green color. I don't remember the brand though. What do I have my eye on now? The splotchy yarns. I want to do one of those fade sweaters.

Definitely the skein of Wonderland Mary Ann sock yarn. I can't believe how soft and squishy it is and the yardage is amazingly generous. What a find!
