Kelly Pettijohn

In our house, it is Christmas Vacation.

Gina Kanouse

For movies Love Actually and A Christmas Story and for songs The Charlie Brown Christmas album and any of the carols we sang in grade school. I particularly like What Child Is This and Do You Hear What I Hear.

D’Anna Coots

I actually listen to Jinglespells every holiday season, it’s old wizard rock music. I love wrock all together.

Jill whitson

I enjoy watching the classics with my kids, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, Santa clause is coming to town and the night before Christmas. Of course I am knitting socks or hats while i watch

White Christmas does it for me, too!

Marianne Griffith

Christmas Vacation makes us laugh til we cry every year

White Christmas is my favorite Christmas movie.

raquel from jc

My personal favorite is "The Little shop around the corner" with the handsome James Stewart and the lovely Margaret Sullavan. For the whole family has to be "A Christmas story". If I'm with my youngest daughter our favorite is "The Polar Express"

Emily Chandler

Christmas vacation movie, no question, to get in the holiday mood.

Kass Malinski

I love frosty the snowman the song and the animated movie.

My favorite movie for the season is "Holiday Inn" and song would be "Mary Did You Know?" and "Adeste Fideles"

Jennifer Waltz

Songs from Christmases past with my children when they were little. Young fingers playing Silent Night for recitals, giggling to the words of Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, calling Come they Told Me.. Ba Rumpatum tum..the Rummy Tum Song. Sweet memories evoked from precious children long ago.

April R.

I love to watch 'A Christmas Story'. I used to watch it as a kid and continue to watch as an adult. As far as music I love to listen (and dream) about "Mele Kalikimaka".

Lisa Loback

Without a doubt the movie Christmas Vacation is my all time favorite!! I watch it every year without fail. Also love it when the local radio station turns to ‘round the clock Christmas music!!!

I love to go see a production of the Nutcracker to get me in the holiday spirit! It was something that I danced in as a kid and I really enjoy both the professional company versions as well as the local dance school ones.
In addition my kids put together a new list of Christmas movies every year that we really enjoy watching together usually while eating tasty treats :)

Beverly Shearon

Carol of the Bells and In the First Light are my absolute favorite Christmas songs. My husband and I always have to watch White Christmas, too, each year. Wouldn't be Christmas without it!

I love the little movie The Snowman. There are no words but it is so wonderful! I have gifted lots of copies over the years. I love Christmas music and randomly sing out loud from Thanksgiving through mid-Hanuary!!!!

Weird one here! I have a CD of Elvis Christmas songs and it includes the song “Peace in the Valley” - while not a traditional Christmas song, every year when I hear it I’m reminded of the reason for season!!

katherine ortiz

knitting socks has gotten me through many hours at hospital and dr.'s office with my husband i put on classical christmas music and knit along

Cold weather and pulling out the wool.

Charlie Brown Christmas

Mary A

Christmas Vacation is the winner in our house.

Caitlin A

I love to watch It's a Wonderful Life and the Patrick Stewart Christmas Carol - if I don't see both of those, it can't really be Christmas!

I love listening to Johnny Mathis Christmas music. My parents had his record when I was growing up and now all of his songs from that record are on my phone. ❄️

I have a chanting monks cd. I can't remember the name.

Barbara Russo

It's A Wonderful Life is the movie that I love at Christmas. My yarn gals and are are having a dinner and a movie date next week and are seeing it at our local theater. On a lighter note I always enjoy the Santa Clause movies with my grandkids !

To me Christmas isnt Christmas till I see White Christmas and music Mannheim Steamroller has to be played. Love their music for sure.

White Christmas for me but Home Alone for the kids.

sandi anonymous

Always get good laughs out of A Christmas Story!

Roberta Jennings

O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song. Several years ago, we were at a church service and they did this song with a soloist that simply took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes. Before that, I had never really paid much attention to the song, but since then, every time I hear it, it really moves me. Merry Christmas to you!

Nicole Acuna

For me it’s always been White Christmas too! This is my favorite season ever and definitely the most fun :)

The Polar Express. It’s becoming a tradition to watch it on Christmas Eve.

Snoopy's Christmas by The Royal Guardsmen.

katie wilkin

The grinch and xmas cookies get me in the mood for Christmas

I love hearing Jingle Bell Rock, The First Noel, and Silver Bells. I haven't seen White Christmas, I'm going to check that one out!

I love Emmitt Otter's Jug Band Christmas because of memories of my grandma at the holidays. I love Love Actually as an adult. While technically not a Christmas movie, it takes you thru the chaos of the season no matter what chapter your life is on.

I love crooners Christmas music. Nat King Cole and Burl Ives especially!

My husband and I watch "Bad Santa" every year, and I watch the original black & white version of A Christmas Carol. I try to see that or The Nutcracker on stage, too, but it doesn't always work out.

Christina Reber

Watching The Grinch and Santa Claus is coming to town. Most of all my children coming home puts me in the mood.

Amy Hansen

I love all of the Classic Christmas movies, but I think instrumental Christmas carols are what I REALLY love this time of year.

Dana Snyder

I love watching the classic Christmas specials like Charlie Brown, Rudolf and Frosty! I love all Christmas music too!

Deb Weaver

"Here Comes Suzy Snowflake" on WGN television in Chicago built my anticipation as a child. My children thought it quite plain, but I made them listen anyway. Now when I hear the song, I get incredibly nostalgic.

Although "It's a Wonderful Life" is my answer when asked how I am, I have never seen the entire movie! Even if I remedy that glaring gap in my life "White Christmas" will probably remain my favorite for getting the mood.

Barbara Hamel

We have a series of movies the kids organized a few years back. Santa Claus 1,2,3 then Polar Express (Christmas Eve) and then Christmas Day we we put on different ones while we build a big puzzle together
Music in the car and sometimes at home to keep things festive as well🎄

Hilda Clegg

We Three Kings and Little Drummer Boy are my favorite Christmas songs. Favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story.

Deborah Grce

For me, It's a Wonderful Life.....I look for it every year, even if I have to watch it all alone. It reminds me to be thankful for how many ways we are all blessed, no matter how rough things may seem at times.

Donna Mabry

Oh Holy Night always puts me in the holiday spirit and my husband and I watch Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer every year - it's tradition.

We love to start the season by putting BIng Crosby's Christmas CD (and others) on while decorating and cooking dinner with a fire in the fireplace, then watching "It's a Wonderful Life" by the fire after dinner.
We save "White Christmas" for when our daughter gets home for Christmas because we all love to watch it together by the fire, all cozy wrapped in afghans. Although we try to wait for her, sometimes we end up watching it twice, once before she gets home and then again while she is here.

For me it is It's a Wonderful Life, but I do enjoy Christmas Vacation and Christmas Story as well.

Cindy h.

I could watch Elf over and over. Makes me laugh every time I watch it. And my song probably would be Reba and Little big town singing "Mary did you know". Thanks for being so generous.

Genia Planck

We love watching the Nutcracker Ballet. And one channel has "Battle of the Nutcrackers" so we'll get to watch the different ballet companies from around the world perform. It's fun!

Geri Heagy

Definitely White Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street!

Geraldine Scott

I watched Elf for the very first time this season...O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song, but that one is kind of serious. Feliz Navidad always makes me want to break out singing (and that's not a good thing!)

Amy Grant's A Christmas Album - it's old but has a fun version of Little Town of Bethlehem and I love almost every song.

Lori Estey

My holiday go to is "A Wonderful Life" - always puts me in the holiday mood and makes me think about family and friends and what they mean to me.

Manette Crawford

I watch every version of A Christmas Carol that I can find. It just speaks to me of what Christmas is all about and how we should treat each other with kindness and respect 365 days of the year!

Sarah trabue

I love the originals like Santa Claus is coming to town and frosty the snowman.

Terri Kelly

It’s a Wonderful Life! Love Jimmy Stewart “George Bailey”! Love Mariah Carey’s Christmas Song “All I Want for Christmas is You!”

On Christmas Eve we as a family go to Mass and then come home and celebrate. But what I always wait for every year is for one our choir members to sing "Mary Did You Know" as a solo at Mass. It is the perfect song at the perfect time. My children tease me because I get teary eyed every year.

Heather Anderson

Its not Christmas without watching "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer", not really a movie. But the song/music that has FINALLY put me back into a holiday mood after over 14 years.... is the new one by The Piano Guys - Christmas Together. Every song is full of joy and beauty...and reminds me that is what Christmas is supposed to be too. Merry Christmas everyone!

Old standards like "Jingle Bells" and "Let it Snow". Actually having some snow helps too!

Martina Garcia

The Spirit of Christmas by Ray Charles, favorite movie "Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer"

I have a whole stack of CDs I listen to each year--from Carols from King's College to A Prairie Home Christmas. Love them!

I don’t have a favorite Christmas movie, but my parents always watch ‘White Christmas’ on Christmas Day.

Barbara Rude

We have been watching the Hallmark channel's countdown to Christmas, we have enjoyed all the movies and have done our Christmas cards and wrapped gifts while watching.

Brenda B

Christmas Movies would be The Polar Express and White Christmas. For music we really love the Windham Hill Christmas cd's along with the beautiful voice of Nat King Cole. The night before Thanksgiving we kicked Christmas off with friends and a live jazz quartet for a night of the music of Vince Guaraldi, great stuff. Oh, and it's snowing right now!!

Kim Fair

A Christmas Story. My tongue is stuck and you’ll shoot your eye out are all I need to get in the Christmas Spirit.

We have several Christmas movies we watch throughout December, but I have two classics that are particular favorites: The Bishop’s Wife and Meet Me in St. Louis. It’s not really Christmastime until I’ve seen them.

Katherine Reed

All I want for youuuuUUUU....baAAAAaaayyyybah!

O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song and it wouldn't be the season without watching A Christmas Story!!

Angela Marsh

It watching a Christmas story every year. Wouldn't be Christmas without the red rider b.b. gun or the leg lamp!!
Also driving around looking at Christmas lights

Rebecca Snyder

Christmastime unofficially starts when the Charlie Brown Christmas show is on tv. I officially get in the Christmas spirit when I've watched my copy of "Emmett Otter's Jug Band Christmas".

Medieval and Baroque seasonal music is what I always fill the house with at this time of year. I rarely watch television, but if I had to choose a film, anything by Charles Dickens would be quite perfect:-)

We love Mannheim Steamroller and Trans-Siberian Orchestra holiday music!

Wendy Farmer

A Christmas Story is our favorite! It’s very nostalgic because my beloved Gramma was the seamstress at the department store featured in the movie.

Sue Kieft

John Denver & the Muppets singing The Twelve Days of Christmas. Bada-bump-bump! Love Miss Piggy!

As a kid, loved when my mom pulled out the Beachboys Christmas album! Rocking out to "Little Saint Nick" is the best, and now I get to share it with my daughter too!

For me it's Elf or White Christmas. Love Actually is certainly up there as well. I love snuggling up with hot chocolate (with a hint of peppermint schnapps) and lighting a fire in my wood-burning fireplace to feel more festive.

my favorite movie is Miracle 34th Street. have to watch it every year On Christmas music it starts as soon as I can have it on it always starts the Christmas cheer.

O Holy Night

Antoinette Overton

Year without a Santa Claus. It's the only thing that'll do the trick!

Bing Crosby's Christmas album. Back when my son was just 2, I purchased the cassette (yeah, *that* long ago). From then on, I'd play it every year and we'd both join in. Even my husband would sing along some of the time!

Amy Hubbard

I love ❤️ White Christmas 🎄, but on Thanksgiving Day I give the green light to turning on the local radio station that plays Christmas carols and that really gets me in the mood!

I love Christmas Vacation with the family and favorite music has to be Kenny G Christmas!!

The Christmas Story. Always.

Muppets Christmas Carol is my first go to movie to get my Holiday juices flowing. I love Michael Caine and The Muppets!! Not to mention there are a bunch of beautiful knitted items in this classic to get me in the Christmas knitting mood. Very close second is Elf. Will Ferrell and Jon Favreau are amazing. Elf makes me feel like a little kid again and I’ll be darned if I don’t cry every single time they all start to sing carols in Central Park.

Debbie (KnitterDeb1030 on Ravelry)

White Christmas is my favorite movie also! My mom and I watched it every year and now my daughters and I watch it. It's very special to me.

Christine Neidel

When I was a child, my parents recorded Christmas bells from dozens of churches in Germany. I haven't been back home to Germany for 25 years. Even with all the Christmas decorations and festive cookies, it's just not truly Christmas until I hear the church bells ring.

Melessa moran

The grinch! The original version.

Geraldine Nehl

For me it has to be “White Christmas”. I get teary just thinking of the general walking down the aisle to ”review” the troops at the end of the movie.

I have fallen in love with ELF!

Jacqueline Taylor

Oh, I agree with the movie White Christmas and Holiday Inn! About 10 years ago I heard a song for the first time, Mary, Did You Hear! Kenny Rogers and I have forgotten the girl that sang it with him. It’s so beautiful!

Julie Marshall

Difficult question!! Elf or Home Alone. 😉

Coby Hanna-Butler

For the past 15 years, I've been lucky enough to spend a weekend in early December in Chicago with friends. Nothing like downtown Chicago all decked out for Christmas to get you in the mood!

We also do our stockings on December 6th, St Nicholas Day. Kids were super stoked to get theirs yesterday!

Movies I have to watch before Christmas: Scrooged, Elf, The Grinch, and Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas :)

Diane Bush

Home Alone is our Family Tradition. We wait for this every year. Any older traditional music is great, Bing, Frank Sinatra, Burl Ives...etc. thanks for doing this wonderful days of Christmas event!

Judy Carpenter

The movie Love is all Around...a new classic. Before that came along it was a little known Family movie A Family For Christmas.

Debbie Hallamek

My favorite is Christmas Vacation. Cracks me up!!

My Celtic Christmas music Pandora station!!! The girls now come home it put it on when it's time to decorate the tree.

Pam Laramee

Elf or The Holiday. Love them both.
