Any of these 3 movies put me in the Christmas spirit - Elf, Fred Claus, or Scrooged.

My favorite movies are Christmas Vacation and Elf.

Rebekah Weaver

White Christmas for me, too! Love it!

Amy Camorote

The movie that puts me in the holiday mood is White Christmas. It's a sentimental favorite.

Byrl taylor

I like to watch Home Alone. Always get a few laughs out of that.

White Christmas, Elf, muppet Christmas carol are my favorites

Suzanne Jewison

I love to watch home alone it never ages, but I also love to listen to my late mums vinyl album by dean martin and nat king Cole singing Christmas

"Olive the Other Reindeer", which is kinda cheesy, but my boyfriend insisted I watch it early on when we started dating, even getting me a copy. I rolled my eyes and groaned the first couple years, but now it's sort of a holiday tradition with fun, goofy memories for us. (Otherwise I would've said The Ref, with Dennis Leary, which is the complete opposite of Olive!)

Julie Kelley

It’s A Wonderful Life!

Top two favorite Christmas movies - Holiday Inn, and the Jim Carrey version of A Christmas Carol. Which is sort of funny because I don't usually enjoy Jim Carrey, but it's by far my favorite version of A Christmas Carol!

Tammy Hardman

Has to be A Christmas Story. No matter how many times I watch it I still love it.

Helen King

I love the songs The Little Drummer Boy and Silent Night!

Karen Caron

We watch 2 movies every year. We watch It's a Wonderful Life at the beginning of the month and Polar Express when it is closer to Christmas.

I read Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" from an illustrated edition I've read for nearly 20 years. Looking at the pictures takes me back to my young adulthood when I purchased the book while living in Sweden.

Joanna Mull

Meet Me In St. Louis. Always. Judy Garland singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas in that gorgeous scarlet gown. Sigh. Love it!

I love to listen to Manheim Steamroller's "Christmas Extraordinaire" with Hallelujah and Faeries(from The Nutcracker) while making Christmas cookies.

Jennifer Thomas's Winter Symphony, especially when it's snowing!

The Christmas story, Elf and the Grinch are must see movies in my house. It wouldn't be the same without them

Kelli L

Home Alone and Polar Express is a staple with the kids...and realized we need to catch them up on Christmas Vacation! They’re old oneough that it’ll keep their attention!

Want to start a tradition with my daughter where I take her Minneapolis to visit her grandmother and see Christmas carol or other plays.

Tanya M Bankert

Home Alone is the Christmas movie that our family gravitates to and Mary did you know is my all time favorite Christmas song!

Melissa G

White Christmas starts the season off but I never feel my Christmas is complete without watching The Man Who Came to Dinner. Love me some Monty Woolley!

Jo Derouin

Theresa Martin

I agree with the cartoon version of The Grinch. I also love the Carol of the Bells (song)....and you can’t beat Elf and Christmas vacation!

Mary B

To Be With You by Sara Groves always warns my heart thinking about being with family for the holidays.

O come, o come Emmanuel is a song that helps me to anticipate Christmas, without getting tired of it. I also love Trans Siberian Orchestra's Christmas stuff.

Pat Hill

My husband likes to watch Love Actually. My adult son makes us watch Elf (not just Christmas but anytime he needs a lift).

Katrina McClintock

For me the Christmas spirit starts it's when I watch Home Alone and start sing White Christmas for a month. Then old Christmas specials come on tv such as A Year Without Santa Claus. I love the Snow Miser/Heat Miser song

Bonnie McDevitt

Music always does it for me! My favorites? The original "Rudolph" and "Frosty the Snowman." And I have to play The Jingle Cats Christmas CD - cracks me up every time, but my own kitties are never too sure about that one!

Cindy Walton

Perry Como Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole...

Barbara Belden

White Christmas of course!!!! I also love the Charlie Brown Christmas special.

Have to watch It’s a Wonderful Life. “Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings” reminds me of the loved ones no longer with us.

White Christmas, the Santa Clause movies, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, and Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, though my kids are grown!
Favorite book is The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey. Favorite music is O Holy Night, all Mannheim Steamroller Christmas, all Amy Grant’s Christmas (esp Grown Up Christmas List and Breath of Heaven), plus my longtime favorite Osmonds Christmas album!
Merry Christmas!

I like to watch "The Santa Clause" and listen to instrumental Christmas music by Kenny G or Michael Buble. But it needs the magic of snowfall to be perfect

Candice Hope

I absolutely love Michael Buble's xmas album. And the Muppet Christmas Carol and Elf are two of my favorite Christmas movies. We start watching Elf on thanksgiving and it could be on repeat for the rest of the year and a few times during the summer and I'd be ok with it.

Faith Personett

This will be my second Christmas without my Dad. He was a huge fan of Willie Nelson so when I listen to the song Pretty Paper, I’m reminded of my Dad.

Nancy Wenberg

My husband and I do dinner out and then come home and watch a Christmas movie. One of our favorites is A Christmas Wish, which stars Jimmy Durante.

I really like traditional carols. At one time I was living in a small town in New England, and those of us who like to sing traditional carols would meet at the town hall and walk through the town in the cold singing them. It was lovely.

Brenna Delosier

Putting up the Christmas tree starts the holiday season for us. No movies or music that starts the season for us.

Venice Smith

The original (Maureen O'Hara, Natalie Wood) movie. "Miracle on 34th Street" is my all time favorite.

Jeanne Bush

I have a CD of Kathy Matea singing Carols which I love, although they are not the traditional songs. Now thinking about it, I'll have to find that CD and put it on. Also the Messiah.

We put up our Christmas tree and decorations the day after Thanksgiving. While doing that we play Mannheim Steamroller and Trans Siberian Orchestra. My husband's favorite Christmas movie is Die Hard :) The grown kids love Elf. I love A Christmas Story, especially the Patrick Stewart version.

Nicole S

The one Christmas song that I haven’t (yet) heard a version of that will drive me up the wall is Good King Wenceslas. I don’t know if that’s because I like the rhythm or because it doesn’t seem to be as popular in stores.

Nancy McBride

My husband made us a wooden Advent tree. I love putting all the miniature Hallmark ornaments in the doors and then opening a door every day in December to fill up the tree. The Holy Family is the last ornament that goes on the top of the tree on Christmas morning.

Joyce Betz

I love the movie (It's a wonderful life) we watch it every year and I cry every year. This is our Christmas tradition.

Karen Bickerman

Love It's a Wonderful Life. Makes me feel so happy for family and friends.

Linda Pirius

Home Alone is my go to movie. As far as songs I like so many of them but One of my favorites is Silent Night.

No favorite movie, but love the music! My favorite song was written by a good friend, and it just doesn’t feel like Christmas until I hear it.

I'm still a fan of The Family Stone which does take place at Christmas time. Never miss A Christmas Story. The story is funny and (this may sound weird) I love that vintage kitchen.

It just started to snow here and I'm listening to Bruce Springsteen, Santa Claus is coming to town! Time to finish knitting Christmas presents. My favorite movie is Elf...I even played one in the parade!

Muppets Christmas Carol 💚

Lin Reuther

I love Jingle Bells! And I have to watch A Christmas Carol every year, preferably late at night!

Amanda F

Hmmmm....I have to say any traditional Christmas song always gets me to feel like it's that time of year. I don't really have a favorite one.

I'm an equal opportunity Christmas movie and cartoon watcher. Here's one of the Rankin-Bass cartoons I haven't seen mentioned yet: 'Twas the Night before Christmas, which starred a family of mice and a family of humans who need to work together to save Christmas. And now I'm hearing the song the clock plays at midnight in my head...

Cynthia Bartok

Movie: A White Christmas
Song: Little Drummer Boy

Stephanie Schenker

All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey! Hands down. Best Christmas song ever! I play is loud and sing it louder and off key 🙉 but I don’t care!

I love "Love, Actually" as a Christmas tradition. And "The Bishop's Wife." (Both versions-- David Niven original and the Whitney Houston remake, which has some fabulous singing in it!) My guilty pleasure is that I also like "The Holiday" (Cameron Diaz/Jude Law/Kate Winslet/Jack Black). I love carols, and for anyone who loves the Bee Gees, Robin Gibb released a Christmas album several years before he died, and it is beautiful.

Meet me in St. Louis when Judy Garland sings Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

Amanda Pollard

The Happiest Christmas tree by Nat King Cole, my mom's favorite!

Anissa Miller

I also love the movie "White Christmas". Can't go wrong with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, love, love, love!

I love a Charlie Brown Christmas.

Deb J

"It's a Wonderful Life" is always a reminder to look for the good even when life is very bleak and of course Alastair Sim's Scrooge dissolving into laughter at the end of "A Christmas Carol" is heartwarming. As for music, oh my, Darlene Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" puts me in the holiday spirit like nothing else though "We Need a Little Christmas" also works quite well!

My favorite Christmas music is ‘I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas’, which I first heard this year from country star Kelsea Ballerini. She did a beautiful rendition.

I’m so jealous of you getting to see White Christmas in the theater! Sounds wonderful!

Thank you for these contests!

Love love love The Grinch --the animated one!

Debra Cohen

I’ve always been fond of “Frosty the Snowman”.

For me, it's Jethro Tull's Christmas Album. It's both jazzy and fun. My favourite songs on the album are "God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen" and "Pavane". They definitely put me in a cheery Christmas mood.

Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' is my favorite for getting in the Christmas spirit.

Linda Cram

I’m a sap for George Bailey in Its a Wonderful Life. A classic good against evil in Bedford Falls. 2nd runner up is the original Miracle on 34th St.

Laura Ricketts

I love watching Elf and Die Hard. But, this year I found a new favorite on Amazon Prime— the movie Christmas in the Clouds. It has an almost entire Native American cast. As someone with lots of Native friends, I really appreciated this and how the script made fun of a lot of Native American types. Besides that, it’s just a cute story, too.

Teresa Knittingdancer

I am Dreaming of a White Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street

My favorite Christmas movies are “A Christmas Story”, “Christmas in Connecticut”, and “We’re no angels” (the 1955 version with Humphrey Bogart, Peter Ustinov, & Aldo Ray).

White Christmas is my favorite too. We watched it the other night to get in the Christmas spirit!!

Dari T

I am ready for Christmas when start hearing Carol of the Bells.

The only Christmas/holiday movie or anything that I like is Christmas vacation and that is only because my DH loves it (the original vacation is his all time favorite movie ever) and he laughs and laughs while watching it. His laugh is my favorite thing in this world and would watch or listen to anything to get to hear it.

Mary M

Going to a theatre in a Victorian town that was Oklahoma's first capitol to watch "A Territorial Christmas Carol." This is an adaptation of the Charles Dickens' classic but set in Oklahoma during the first Christmas after the Oklahoma Land Run. We also enjoy all types of Christmas music and even play it at times in the middle of the hot summer. Check out Pentatonix Christmas music including Mary, Did You Know?

Love Christmas music. My favorites are Silver Bells, O Holy Night and Carol of the Bells

Inez Finley

I love Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses. Takes me straight back to the 90's!

White Christmas or You're a mean one, Mr Grinch

I like watching "Elf" and "A Christmas Story".

It's gotta be Elf!

Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt, the definitive version. And Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol actually gets funnier every year...

Jackie Holmes

I love the The Holiday! I look forward to it every year! A great movie to get cozy and knit.

It’s a Wonderful Life and any of the Christmas Carol movies always put me in the holiday spirit!

Charlie Brown Christmas gets me in the mood, i love all the music in it, and even just hearing the music will get me in the Christmas state of mind, as does White Christmas, the movie! And the song It''s Beginning to look a lot like well as the Song "Silver Bells"

My all time can't miss Christmas movie is "It's a Wonderful Life" A close second is Elf. I have a confession though,,,, I have never seen A Christmas Story. That's kind of become my tradition,, to avoid that movie every year. :-)

Favorite song: "I Need a Little Christmas" by Johnny Mathis! A classic that will always make me smile and sing.
