Schachenmayr has combined two of their most popular Regia self-patterning collections into one grand option- a Pairfect collection designed by Arne & Carlos!
Perhaps you've knit the Pairfect collection before. It's the one that gives you two perfectly matching socks by having a thin yellow strand at the beginning and middle of the ball that indicates where to start for each sock. And perhaps you've also knit some of the Arne & Carlos colors (they even come in heavier weight)- these are the guys who design the popular Norwegian sweaters and translated that work into self-patterning Regia socks.
Well, now the two concepts are one and you can get two "pairfectly" matching Arne & Carlos socks!
Are you a person who wants two matching socks? I'm well documented as being on the "oh, forget that" end of the spectrum. But a balls that's over 450 yards is plenty for my size 11 feet, even if I'm wasting a bit to get to the middle part to start again. And the colors and patterns are so cool that I really feel the need to cast on.
I don't mind if my socks don't match if they're done in self-stripe yarn or if I happen to ever make Frankensocks. I'm also crazy enough to count rounds to make sure things are the exact. It's easy when there are pattern repeats but on vanilla socks....
Also, I don't know how I feel about this yarn. It lends itself to to a short row heel, which I'm not crazy about. Oh well.

I knit socks two-at-a-time and that helps a lot to get matching socks.
I love the Arne & Carlos esthetic, but I am also not a fan of short-row heels. Give me a heel flap and gusset, please. I would be very interested to see how this yarn works up with a heel flap and gusset.

I'm a heel flap knitter too, which is why I may just do a solid color for the heel flap and toe. I'm a fan of a contrasting heel and toe.

I go cuff down, heel flap and turn and a star toe. I have high arches and have had a bone taken out of the ball of each foot, leaving my feet a bit misshapen. I'm only 5'3", but have size 8.5-9 feet! My hands are tiny though!
I love crazy socks, and don't care so much about matching. If I wanted matching socks, I'd go buy a huge pack of Hanes at Target. Those are awesome for exercising. The rest of the time, colorful hand-knit is the way to go :)

Part of the beauty of a hand-knit pair of socks is having them not match!

I'm a little rebellious and intentionally make knit my socks so they don't quite match ;)

LOVE these! I don't much care about matching, but these just look fun!

I rarely make my socks match. I like the difference with hand knit socks. These are cute so I may have to try them but I like heel flaps or the strong heel.

I always do top down with a flap heel, also. I do wonder what these would look like with a flap heel. I think I will get some and see, the colors are just so nice. And I don't wear socks with sandals, anyway, so no one will see what the instep/ankle area looks like, unless I take my shoes off!
