Here in the US, we are about to have Spring Break, which for us is a week long break from school. It's a breath of fresh air for educators and school support persons as well as the kids, who desperately need a break between Christmas and year end. For us parents, it's hit or miss. Depending on the day we either love having our kids home for a week (or if we're lucky, going on a fun vacation) or we don't love it every minute because the kids get at each other non-stop. Or if you have older kids, you're worried about what they are up to and if they are safe on their week of adventure. Yikes. I'm not looking forward to that parenting stage.
My boys are five years apart, so one would think that there's enough of an age difference that they wouldn't fight over the same dang toy all the time, but alas, the kids will go at it over One. Particular. Lego. And Henry, who is only four, will hold his own... at least until he's decided he's not as stubborn as he thought and melts down in my arms about how unfair it is that he's not big enough to do ALL the cool stuff.
This face means "Mom. Protect my awesome block creation with every fiber of your being." And then he quickly collapses into tears when it falls apart. And does anyone see the two-inch shorter part of his bangs on the left? Yeah, he did that.
All this is to say that perhaps while you are looking forward to a week long break with your family, perhaps you'll need a break or five. So every day next week I'm holding a contest here on the blog. A way for you to take five minutes and tell us a bit about yourself, reminisce about your past Spring Breaks, and have a chance at winning something awesome. And on Friday the contest week will culminate in what I think is the most special gift we've ever given- the chance at your own curated Knit Kit created by SSYC just for you.
So come back next week every day to share in the Spring Break fun!
Yay! Now that's exciting! What a cutie faced superhero you have, there!

Here it's our first day back after Spring Break :( Our most memorable was to Egypt with a group of teachers. Saw the pyramids, rode a camel, and took a cruise down the Nile!
