Yarn Overload 2016 continues as I continue to add even more yarn to the shop. In addition to the Black Trillium silk blend Lilt that I post about yesterday (oh, that green!) I just added Opal's newest 6ply sport-to-dk weight collection, Wunderland.
Isn't this a cool collection? The colors are even more vivid in person, and the 50% thicker yarn means that not only will your project knit up quicker, but you'll have a warmer and thicker sock. And the 150 gram ball means that you'll have plenty for a really large pair of socks or a nice sized cowl. I've even lowered the price on these to $20 (they usually retail 15% higher) so you're getting a lot of yarn for your money.
You may have noticed that this is the fourth new Opal collection I've added in the past month. That one collection a week- hey, when I say I'm going to expand the shop's offerings, I really mean it! If you are as addicted to self-patterning yarn like I am (I always have at least one pair on the needles- more often three), you were also happy to see the new Happy with Sparkles collection, Popcorn, and the new 8ply light worsted weight collection, Winter Moon, shown below.
I took on a long weekend trip last week, and I started on these socks, Happy color 9094. Got so many comments from passers by as I knit. Comments ranged from "Oh, knitting! Isn't that a dying art?" (um, no, it's thriving!) to "Wow, those are such amazing socks!" (yes, I agree!)
