If you live in the Midwest like us, you are familiar with ALL THE RAIN that we've been experiencing throughout this summer (sorry, California. Don't mean to rub it in.). Day after day, we see rain fall from the skies, drowning our crops, flooding our rivers and parks, and ruining infrastructure. It's been a wet one, and it's finally starting to dry up and we are now experiencing the balmy, hot summers that we are known for in Indiana.
The arrival of yarn has mirrored our weather patterns over the past couple weeks, and I'm swimming to keep up. This isn't a bad thing though. It means that even during the busy fair and festival season, our dyers are still making you a priority and sending along amazingly colored skeins to inspire us. I do hope to have these all available on the website for you in the next couple days (or come in the shop this Saturday from 10-4 to see EVERYTHING in person).

Just some of what I'll have for you includes: new colors and restocks of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock; new colors and restocks of Madelinetosh including Tosh Sock, Merino Light, Pashmina and Tosh DK; restocks of popular lines of Regia like Fluormania, Arne & Carlos, and Colormania; new hues from The Cyborg's Craft Room and Hedgehog Fibres; PLUS another SSYC 10th anniversary kit coming in early August featuring a special something from Tina and gang at Blue Moon Fiber Arts. There's so much great stuff to share soon and I'll do my best to continue photographing and getting it on the website for everyone to browse.

My apologies for being somewhat radio-silent over the past few weeks here, on Facebook and Instagram. Just trying to keep up while also having the kids all over me during summer break. There's just so much going on fiber-wise and life-wise and I'm fortunate for this, but darn it if it doesn't eat into my socializing with all of you! Also expect a lot more contests in the coming weeks as we and our awesome vendors continue to celebrate SSYC's 10th Anniversary!
OH MY GOSH! Here in California guess what happened, while you were playing with all that yarn? 3 inches of water fell out of the sky.

Yes. I keep saying I wish we could send some of this water to the west coast. A few weeks ago 234 million gallons of water fell on our town in ONE hour! (Somehow they can measure how much rain goes into the Deep Tunnel from our storm sewers). It came down so fast it overwhelmed the sewers & flooded the streets for a few hours. I fear that, like last summer which was also rainy, our tomatoes will ripen late. Last year they were 3 weeks late & then all came in at the same time. I am going to have to check out the new yarn especially Hedgehog Fibers.

Oh, so much luscious yarn and not nearly enough time to knit everything I want to knit - it torture!!!
By the way, who won the contest? (Me, I hope. 😊)
