This is the last month of the 2014-15 Dream Club season (it will start again this coming fall), and I have to give a big THANK YOU to the crew at Dream in Color for making it a green month. I do love green so much. And when we are covered in a foot of the white stuff, this green reminds me that we have something to look forward to in another month.
If you've participated in the Dream Club over the past few years, you'll know that February is always a pink/red color. They are always quite lovely, but you may know that my two yarny kryptonites are green and stripes. So, of course, this month's selection speaks to me. More like shouts to me.
If you want to grab a skein of this, you also get a complimentary shawl pattern, shown above. You'll get a coupon code in your package to download it from Ravelry.
This month's selection is dyed on the fingering weight, one-ply Jilly base, which looks amazing in shawls and accessories, but also would be stunning as a sweater if you want to get several of them. Or, if you think you might like to combine this color with another, I recommend taking a look at all the Jilly colors I have in stock right now. I think Tidewater, Ginger Ninja, Elysian, Dive, and Nebula to combine with this Dream Club color.
Here in Indiana, we were gifted with a good foot of snow, so most things are closed today, including our shop. We won't be shipping today, but we'll get right back to it first thing Tuesday morning. We are also open to the public this Tuesday ( Feb. 3) should you want to come in and browse in person. Our once-a-week in-person shopping days are always a fun time for us. While we greatly enjoy being your personal shoppers and sending yarn to your doorsteps six days a week, it's definitely fun to help you pick out your yarn in person and see all the beautiful projects you bring in to show off.
While green is not my favorite color, that particular shade has always been one of my favorites. It fairly shouts SPRING WILL COME! Such a vibrant, hopeful color. We got over 15" of snow which makes me really appreciate retirement! You & your staff should stay safe & warm in your house!
