I have a few projects to share with you! First a cowl knit by one of you, Susan, in Trekking XXL 6 ply color 1837. Susan knit this cowl with one 150g ball of the yarn, and the Accord Cowl pattern. What a great use of this yarn, right? I'm currently knitting a pair of socks with color 1846, and now I think I just may have to cast on a cowl as well. Susan had this to say about her project, "Love this fabulous yarn and the way the colors developed lengthwise. The yarn is very soft after blocking and a joy to knit with."
Heather, SSYC's manager, finished yet another sweater! This one using two balls of the Regia 6ply HD from the sale section. This is the Condo Sweater, and I think this is a brilliant sweater to wear in the summer season and proof that one can wear wool all year 'round. Heather is on the move all day long and this sweater is great for someone who is constantly moving during the summer months, but still wants to sport awesome hand knits.
Finally, a bit of craftiness from me. Not a knit, but a stitch. I've finished with the bulk of my halloween sampler from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, and now I've started on the ghoulish lace-looking border. Before starting this project, I hadn't cross stitched for years- probably seven or more. But I saw someone stitching this on Instagram and I immediately bought the pattern and went to the attic to dig out my floss. It's been such a joy to stitch this, and I may have bought The Mysterious Halloween Town Club as well.
Love the cowl that Susan knit! Ordered the yarn and bought the pattern.
Like the sweater that Heather knit also - it is an interesting idea for layering this fall/winter.
And - the cross stitch is really cute and well done! I'm also a cross stitcher when I take breaks from my knitting. I love doing samplers and the charts of paintings by Scarlet Quince.
I think that those two pursuits work well for me need to create.

Thanks, Allison, for showing my cowl. I feel like such a celebrity. I ordered several skeins of this yarn in different colors and when it arrived I loved the colors so much that I didn't want to do socks. I browsed around Ravelry for one skein projects and came up with several. This was my first and I'm so happy with the results that I can't wait to knit the others.
Also thank you Leslie. I followed the pattern instructions but I think I made mine longer. I like cowls that are long enough to wrap around my neck once or wear long.
It has been many years since I've done cross stitch but this sure looks tempting.

For anyone interested in this yarn and pattern, the pattern shows a bulky knit with 10 1/2 needles. The Trekking yarn is finer weight so I used #6 needles and cast on for the length I wanted. I cast on 180 stitches and knit until just enough yarn was left to bind off using a stretchy bind off. Blocking gave it some extra length.

Susan - thank you for telling us the needle size and cast on number for making the cowl with the Trekking yarn - I was about to get out my "math hat" lol
I also have some of the Opal in their DK weight that I think will look wonderful with this pattern also.
I think I have my Christmas knitting planned now!
