...just white. White on the screen, white outside. More snow. And more.
Want color? Well, it's coming. BOY, is it coming.
I have new dyers and lines coming for you in the very near future. Yarn you've been waiting for. Yarn you didn't even know you wanted. Yarn you didn't even know existed. Man, I love my job. All this yarn. I can't wait to share it with you.
But today, I'm sitting in my basement, staring out the windows at all the white. Snowed in again. Drifts taller than me. Trying to play catch up when I still don't have my voice back yet (day 6), services are at a standstill, and everything just stops. I don't want to stop! I want color. And texture. And spring!
All this is to say that I have so much fab stuff to share with you over the coming month. Color galore. Talent in fistfulls. Dyers I'm bursting with pride to represent. I just need a few mintues and a snowmobile to make it all happen. Anyone sell time? Or rural snowmobile transport?
Oh, and the 12 Days of Sock Yarn winners? Still to be announced. Yet another thing shoved on the backburner during this month-made-nutso by the extreme weather. It takes hours to put the announcement together, and hours are something that I may not have for awhile.
Hang in there!!!

Think 4th of July! Make some cherry Jello!Start a new project. How 'bout just one more pair of socks in a yarn you wouldn't normally choose. See you feel better already, don't you?

Knit some socks in a spring color! That's what I plan to do as soon as I finish my dull navy striped socks and angora lined mittens! Think spring colors!

Snowy cold Wisconsin. White upon white outside. But my mind is happy with colorful Opal yarn and newly cast on socks on my needles. Cheer up, all. It can't last forever.

CT is white too. It has been this way for 4 winters now. White. Snow. Oh well. When I weave I see color and when I knit I see color. I just visit my stash and I feel better. Is that not what fiber stashes are for? They get us color junkies thru the "white" cold season! Just got some pink sock yarn from you so I can add more color to my stash! Don't worry! This too shall.....melt!

My Facebook feed has been filled with posts of friends despairing of winter ever ending. I can't remember a winter that had such a relentless feel to it. It's almost as if we're in a Hitchcock episode about entering another ice age. Maybe black wasn't the best choice for mittens to knit. I think I'll stash dive for a bright ball of worsted.

Since I never win anything, anywhere, at any time, as long as you're not posting the winners I can hold out hope that maybe this time is different. A beautiful skein of yarn and the lottery. Dreams!!
