What a weekend. Surely one of the most memorable weekends I've had in a long time. Not only did I learn and laugh way, way more than any other time this year, I was continually inspired by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee.
Saturday in the shop was a really busy day, and I greatly appreciate everyone who stopped in to say Hi, shopped, and showed off projects all day long. This is Sue's Leftie, knit with a variety of solids. If you'd like to duplicate this, take a look at Cascade Heritage Solids for a nice black, and choose whatever solids or multicolors you'd like for the thin stripes. A gorgeous look, don't you think?
Stephanie is showing Sue how to purl through the front and back to create a stitch. I never though I'd have Stephanie Pearl-McPhee hang out in my shop. Still can't believe it.
Here are Amy and her hubby waiting in line for the lecture on Saturday night. It was Amy's birthday. Aren't they cute?! And is he wearing hand knit mitts?
Some of my favorite people, eating, knitting, laughing. James (my son), Heather (shop manager) and Rachael (Shipping Diva) and her fiance. Want to see how large the whole crowd was for the lecture? Take a look at hundreds of sock knitters in this post on the Yarn Harlot blog. Amazing what knitters will do with a couple weeks notice on a holiday weekend, am I right? We have our priorities straight!
At the end of the night, after everyone had left, we took a quick snapshot of the SSYC Team (minus Angela) with Stephanie. Then we had a drink. Or several.
Thank you, again, to everyone who came out to the shop, lecture and classes this weekend. It was a great amount of fun for me. I loved seeing so many knitters I adore laugh and learn from Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. I'm also very grateful that a chunk of time opened up somewhat last-minute and that the Yarn Harlot herself chose to come to my shop. It was a wonderful experience that I'll not forget.
Thanks for planning the event
