I've subbed out two colors of my original ideas, one being Filigree, which was actually my fave color from this entire shipment. The other three colors are Magnolia Leaf, Copper Penny and Glazed Pecan. I chose a bright skein, one that has more green than gold, and I LOVE IT. Photos just do not do Merino Light justice. The colors are just so spectacular and really seem to pop on this one-ply yarn.

I'll start my new scarf tonight, and once that's finished I'll be using the remaining yarn to knit my mitts. And don't think I haven't considered starting my project right now- it's taking quite a lot of restraint not to, but I specifically got up in the wee hours of the morning to get work done before James wakes, and I'm doing my best to keep on task.... though my resolve is weakening as I type this. Argh.
You really could just take a wee knitting break :) Just a tiny one.....

Besides socks, I have knit skinny scarves. They make great quick gifts at this time of year!

With sock yarn, I've knit several pairs of fingerless mittens with beads. Lovely. And Stephen West's Boneyard scarf. And the omnipresent Baktus scarf. I love knitting with sock yarn!

So far this year, I've knit just socks, but I'm about to embark on a new adventure! I will be making the Frost Hat in the new Interweave Accessories magazine out of Cascade Heritage using maroon on the edge and charcoal for the rest of the hat. Wish me luck!

Of course, I've knit several pairs of socks and also a couple of scarfs. My favorite is a pattern from the Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders book knit in Tanis Fiber Arts Purple Label - yummy!

I have only knit socks with sock yarn this year, but I have made several scarves, cowls, and some stranded mittens!
I have recently returned to knitting after a many year hiatus. I can't think why I stopped.....

Actually I made a pair of socks. It was exciting for me because of two reasons:
#1 I had not been able to knit with small needles for the last 1.5 years due to slow recovery from CTR surgery and #2 I took a class at a LYS and learned the two circulars, two socks at one time method. Yeah!
