Come join in the Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, August 20 from 10-5 ! Yarn tasting, shopping, contests, and noshing. Can't make it to the opening? Then join online here on the blog and on SSYC's Facebook page with similar fun throughout the days surrounding the opening. I even have a very special sock knit kit planned.
Are you coming to the Grand Opening? If so, tell me in the comments below if you are a local or if you are driving from out of town and how long you're travelling. There are two other lovely yarn stores in Fort Wayne to visit while you're here and I told them to expect some of you to stop in. One is a one-minute drive down the road, and the other is just five minutes away. Really, Fort Wayne might as well be called Fort Fiber now! There's a great bakery across the street from SSYC, a nice diner down the street (and many other food options), and coffee shops close by. Fort Wayne's prized Forest Park Blvd. is a half block away, with grand old homes that are not to be missed. And at the end of that Blvd. is the Lakeside Rose Garden. You could easily spend three hours in SSYC's neighborhood alone, shopping for yarn, eating pastries and strolling to the park to sit at a table by the fountains and knit. Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me.
If you want to visit the store during our regular showroom hours, we'll be open one day a week, alternating Tuesdays and Saturdays, and the dates are at the bottom of the store's homepage. Come see more sock yarn that you've likely seen in one place! If you're on Ravelry, you can check out the Event Listing here.
Yes, will be coming from the SW side of Fort Wayne on Sat the 20th! Looking forward to seeing your new shop, Marlene

I may make it up there! I live in Nashville, TN, but my special dude is from Roanoke, so we'd have somewhere to stay, which is very convenient for ME. ;)
I hope to see you - if not for the grand opening, sometime soon, I'm sure.
