Nancy

I have loved every thing I have bought from SSYC. The yarns are gorgeous, the kits are fantastic, the patterns are great and the help is fabulous. If I have to pick one thing that I love the most it would have to be the Silver Moon Project Bags. They are the greatest thing for my knitting. I have a number of them, all full. I use them to prepare for my next project by putting a caked skein of yarn and the needles in them so they are ready to grab to start my next project and I also have works in progress in them, because they slip easily into my purse so I can knit on the go.

Joyce

I love almost everything I see on your site. I haven't bought much in the past....trying to use my stash. I am really working through it. However, I did buy some Trekking (Brach's colorway), made the socks, and love them.

Anne Marie

I'm new to socks, so I just discovered your site. So hard to decide on a yarn! Call me boring, but I want to knit a pair for my hubby, and I loved your blog list of Man's Man Sock Yarns. I would pick Shelridge Farms, Soft Touch Ultra: Highland Mist (gray). Ravelry amchart

Cynthia

I love anything string theory colorworks! What great yarn! And I can't wait to see your new store.

Tori

I just found you and have spent a looong time drooling over your beautiful selection!! I'd have to say that "little ghost" colorway in the String Theory looks AMAZING (oh for a pair of orange tiger stripey socks...) and Ohhhhhh, there's a Taiyo SOCK YARN!! Wowza! lol.

Congrats on 6 years!!!!

kelly jun

Even though I am a faithful blog reader, it has been awhile since I have purchased. I do love snuggling with the Casbah I purchased from you.

Larissa

I ordered some Shepherd Sock a while ago and loved it (xmas colors for my mom)! I love all the various colors of you stock and the unique yarn lines. I want to get some LL Clara's Garden next and make some socks for myself! Congratulations on you 6th anniversary and the next step you are taking with your business.

carolyn

My favorite thing is the Schaeffer Anne Heather in Gertrude Ederly. It made the most comfy, beautiful socks that I own and I live in them all winter! (and, if I must admit, I live in them on cool days in summer too!)

Abby

Favorite thing I've purchased? All the sock yarn shines in my mind. I admit to favoring your sales. I use them as an opportunity to stock up on sock yarn. Too much is never enough!

Candice Hope

My favorite thing (so far) that I've ordered from SSYC is some arucania sock yarn from the sale page. I wrote about it here: http://www.textilestockpile.com/cheap-and-not-so-cheap-thrills/

My next purchase will be the gradation sock yarn skeins... just can't decide on which colorway! I want more than one!

Melissa Cherney

I think my favorite purchase from you was the Dream in Color November selection, dyed on Starry. Every so often I just pick it up and drool over its beauty. Can't wait to find the "perfect" pattern to use it with!!! Can't wait to come see the shop once it's open - there is a whole group of sock-obsessed knitters here in Toledo eagerly awaiting a road trip. :)

Melissa

Judi A.

I haven't known about your wonderful store before, so can't mention a previous purchase, but loved looking through (partially-not enough time right now) all of your yarns. First choice right now (it could change at another pperusal) is Dream in Color, Smooshie in any color! but drawn to anything pink. :-)

judi7597(at)bellsouth(dot)net

Anna

LOVE the latest anniversary kit with Amish Clothesline! The stitchmarkers are awesome and the color of the yarn is just about my favorite out of all my stash (which is sayin a lot)!

Renee'

OOH that is hard...Since I bought nearly every colorway of fleece artist I guess I will pick that as my favorite...but I love everything you sell and your service too. Dream in Color is a close 2nd....

Elyse

I've never bought anything here, but the Malabrigo in Terracotta is beautiful!

Susan C.

I bought a gorgeous hank of Cherry Tree Hill in the Java colorway. It knit up into the most gorgeous mix of browns and blues and blacks, really stunning!

Allise

I think my first purchase from ssyc was Shelridge Farms Softouch. I was seduced by the description of the test knitter and I remember I got my mom a skein, too. I think that was our first real introduction to handpainted yarns. Around the same time I ordered DIC Smooshy in Giant Peach. Both sadly have been gifted.

Bianca

Congrats on your sixth anniversary! I think the Claudia Handpainted is a yarn that I would love to try in the near future

Kim

At the moment my favorite thing is the anniversary kit that I just got. I adore the colors, and the stitch markers are my favorite style. I also love the format of the pattern cards that you did.

Susan

I love everything I've purchased from you. For sentimental reasons, I will select my first yarn from your store: Shelridge Farms "crocus." User friendly for the first-time sock knitter and still holds up after all these years.

Kathy

I've purchased several lovely sock yarns from Simply Socks but my favorite is not yarn! It's one of the Silver Moon Studios Reversible Sock Project Bag with the sock monkeys on one side and red cherries on the reverse. This is the handiest bag to take to my knitting group. Just the right size!

Mary C.

I love the Valentine Kit! The Tanis Cashmere yarn is my absolute favorite (of the ones I've knitted with so far). The stitch markers are the ones I find myself using most often, and the sock pattern, though a bit challenging (which made it fun really), turned out beautifully. The socks were my present to me, which was even better!

Ann

My favorite purchases this year are my Kollage square aluminum needles and the Trifoliium String Theory yarn--love those stripes!

Lauren

I covet the Sleepy Dragon wooly bamboo Purple Night.

Sooo pretty....

Jean Folkerth

I love love love string theory colorworks! I have two skeins just waiting to be knit up. I just promised myself I would finish the projects on my needles before I start another and I know it will be one of the color works! If I win you can count on me buying other colors of string theory!!!!

bunny

I agree with Jean. I love, love, love string theory and Simply Socks has given me an opportunity to immediately purchase String Theory yarn before it is gone posting it in the blog. I am particularly fond of the Halloween yarn I bought. Half-way through a pair of socks I found out I was going to have my first grandchild this summer. I took it apart, and can't wait to knit it into a sweater for her fist Halloween.

adrienne

i would love some string theory stripey goodness.

congrats on your "anniversary!"

Angie

Congrats on your anniversary! You are the GO TO place for sock yarn.

carrie

I've never been to the store before...first timer! I love Bootcamp in Claudia Fingering Weight. Thanks!

Jalinn

I love, love, love String Theory self striping yarns. I made myself a pair of socks in the rainbow colorway for St Patty's day. Now I'm working on wedding socks for my sister & soon to be brother in law in the Quasar colorway. It's amazingly soft and the color changes are so crisp. One of my new favorite yarns!

Knittingdancer

I just found your site. You have so many wonderful choices of yarn. I been wanting to try Madelinetosh, Pashmina. I would buy it in Scarlet to make an Advent Scarf for Christmas.

Lia

For me, it was DIC Knitosophy in Butterfly - I used it to make a couple pairs of the Lepidoptera Mitts. Both worked together really well.

Vickie

Wow! Hard to pin down my favorite because I've bought a lot of stuff (and see more in the near future!) I'd have to say though that it's my String Theory Colorworks Continuum Ghalactic Ghoul sock yarn. The socks were so much fun to knit and I'm looking forward to fall just so I can wear them again. Actually, I think all of my Continuum socks are at the top of my favorites list.

Nancy

I just love the Simply Sock Yarn that I bought from you at Sock Summit '09. You only had a few colors on hand way back then, and I got navy blue and chambray. I used both colors to make a pair of Montgolfiere socks (a mosaic sock pattern). I just love those socks, and I wear them a lot. I happened to wash them just yesterday, and I was noticing how well they are standing up to frequent use. The socks still feel so thick, cushy and soft. I really love the texture of the fabric. I was thinking that great sock yarn is not just any sock yarn. I really recommend your line for beauty, durability, and comfort. I have some more colors in my stash and I wish I could be knitting some of it up right now. Alas, most of my stash is in storage while we are preparing to make a big move. I'd love a chance to get a little more right now, just to take the edge off, you know.

lorraine

woh what a super giveaway..i just found your shop and im in love with noro taiyo (s9 looks so pretty) thanks!! fingers crossed!

bonny

My favorite purchase from Simply Socks was the one I just made last week - 3 skeins of Shibui Staccato in (Water)melon to celebrate my son receiving a Mellon grant! Congratulations on 6 wonderful years and your new store, and thank you for wonderful yarn and wonderful service!

Natalie

I love SSYC and would love to buy just about everything. I think my favorite is the Anniversary kit from last year(or the year before?) that came with Joe's mug,the adorable tape measure and the Pigeonroof Studio yarn in Sundance. Of course, I love the Hillary yarn from the women of the 2008 election collection and I think you may remember the reason. The most important thing I've found on SSYC is interaction with an owner who, while not physically present, seems present in other ways and is always helpful and kind.

Heather

I have never ordered from your shop.I would love to try some Tosh Sock in Jade beautiful! Thanks for the great giveaway.

Sue

I'm going to say my very first purchase from your store (which I linked to from Sock Summit 09) — several Cherry Tree Hill Potluck yarns. This was my introduction to serious quality yarns, and the joys of knitting socks. Both have become passions and I have become a regular shopper. Congratulations on your success. I hope you and your store will be around to provide us with great products and customer service for a very long time to come.

Chris

I just purchased some Schaefer Anne Yarn in Scottish Thistle.I have been looking for this colour for a few years for a great pattern named Thistle!!I was really excited to finally find some and it was on special. How much better can it get!Thank you thank youand good luck with the renovations.

Lesa

I loved the 2010 StringTheory Colorworks Christmas project.....the yarn, the bag, it was ALL great!

marianne

happy anniversary!
I haven't ordered before and am ogling the Gradience Scarf November kit.
thanks for the giveaway!

Maureen L

I've bought a lot of yarn from SSYC and have loved it all. However, the self-striping STC Continuum sure did save me from weaving in ends on a pair of fingerless gloves lately.

nina

I have just started socks too, so I haven't bought anything yet. So many yummy yarns to choose from! Maybe, because I am Canadian, I would choose some Fleece Artist. The Sea Wool sounds intriguing!

Rachel

I've been dying to try Fleece Artist's Sea Wool for forever, so that would probably be what I would try!

Bobbi

I love anything from Sweet Georgia or Tanis.
My favourite kit was the Joyeux Noel or maybe the Mothers Day kit-so much lovely yarn and so hard to decide!

Debby

I love everything I've ever bought from you and really can't wait for your store to open. Congratulations on your anniversary! Probably one of my favorites is the Mother's Day yarn and bag from last year. I use the bag constantly.

Carol Moore

My absolute fav place for sock yarn. The best selection in one place and fabulous sales!! My fav yarn at this time is String Theory Continum-- just love it and I have collected many of the colors and plan on more. I appreciate most of all being able to get questions answered with such prompt, friendly, customer svce. Congrats on your anniversary-- I plan to be here to deliver congrats on your next anniversary too.

Lisa Viviano

My favorite purchase is the Pigeon roof Siren Two Sock in the color Vintage. Beautiful color and the softest sock yarn I've found so far. Congrats on the big anniversary!

Terri Brinegar

I loved the Joyeux Noel kit. The colors were wonderful and I made the fingerless mitts with the yarn.

Marilyn

I've only purchased (so far), one item from Simply Socks and that is Lorna's Laces Sock Yarn in Grand Street Ink to knit the Rock Island Shawl. I absolutely adore the color and the yarn. Lorna's Laces is having a KAL and I am particpating in person(although behind), as I live quite close.

My plan is to learn to knit socks (after finishing a few things) and have also just bought the book "Sock Yarn One Skein Wonders". Sock yarn comes is such wonderful colors and this book will help me to knit not just socks from it.

Good luck on completing your new store; I hope to be able to visit and buy.

tami

I haven't bought anything yet, but I've always wanted to try the madtosh pashmina.
It just looks yummy

barbara

i love the colors of Lorna's lace.

Patricia Richardson

I especially enjoyed receiving the Joyeux Noel Kit. The colors were stunning. To be honest, I love everything I've purchased from you and look forward to visiting your new store once it is opened.

Kim B.

I really love the yarn in the latest anniversary kit. But, I have to say my favorite was the kit with the mug that was handmade by your husband. It is a good weight and feels wonderful in the hand. You offer really nice yarns and color selections.

April

My favorite purchase so far has been a few balls of Cascade Sassy Stripes. The pair I made for my boyfriend were a big hit and I'm glad I have some stashed away for myself.

tina

I have just started socks too!! so I have not bought anything yet ... so many great yarns to choose from

Kathy

My husband bought me a sock club - it was the best gift that I had ever had! The theme was 4 seasons and the yarn I got was the most wonderful yarn.... I was so happy with the yarns and Allison also sent us pattern suggestions. I could not wait to get the next shipment and was so sad when it was over. I still have one of the yarns to knit up.....

Susie

My very favorite is Tencelicious from Zen Garden. I love the sheen.

Beth

Love everything I've ever purchased! The Mother's day heels and toes with the project bag and tea was a stand out. To me, the greatest thing you have is your customer service. All orders are quick and professional plus your communication to make sure everything is right has blown me away!

Karen

I haven't purchased anything as of yet as I just finished my first set of socks. But one of the things you have that really interests me is the "Unique Sheep, Gradiance Sock in Geranium"

Indulgence on Ravelry

I have been wanting to try Conjoined Creations Flat Feet for so long... I love the dark neutral colorway.. and its so cool to see the way our socks will end up looking before they're made! Though, since frogging is not my favorite thing.. I'm not sure how I will bring myself to unravel the flat to make socks!!

Diane

The Schaefer Nicole is WONDERFUL!!!

sadiekate on raverly

I've not yet bought anything from the SSYC but I would love to get MT Tosh Sock in Victorian Gothic.
Thanks

Amy V

Congrats on your anniversary. I'd love a chance to win! kniitterofhats on Ravelry

Kara

You have so many beautiful yarns, it's hard to pick just one favorite! I love the Mini Mochi autumn rainbow, and am very intrigued by the new Noro Taiyo. A softer Noro sounds wonderful!
Congratulations on reaching 6 years, may you celebrate many more anniversaries!

Val

I loved the Anniversary kit from last year with the mug..its on my mantle. I loved the Mother's Day kit last year also..or maybe it was Valentine's day? I forget...but I made wonderful socks for my daughter for when she was pregnant with our first grandchild.

Also love the Claudia Handpaints and the Schaefer Anne...

Wonderful to deal with you also...an owner who cares about the customer.

Melissa

My favorite moment: when you helped me with "bigfoot guy-friendly" sock yarn!

Diana

My favorite is the Tanis Purple Label M/C/N yarn in the Sand colorway. Haven't knit it yet, but I love petting it.

Ashley Robinson

I have never purchased anything from SSYC, but browsing through the website, I found several things I'd like to buy! I would especially like to try the Seacoast Panda Sock in the Cherry Blossom colorway!

Robin

I haven't bought from you, but the Gradience Sock Sets look so intriguing.

ELC

I loved the mother's day kit you had last year. It was a special treat that I gave myself.

Zabbers

I've loved my Claudia Hand Painted fingering weight yarn in John B the most. Such lovely rich colors, such a good solid-feeling yarn.

Donna

Wow! That is a hard question to answer! The thing that I love most is the Sock Club. I've gotten so many gorgeous yarns & I love that it's not every month but rather for 33 or 4 months twice a year. I feel less pressure to knit as many socks as I can. I do occasionally knit other things so a pair of socks a month isn't always possible. If forced to choose a single yarn that I have loved, I'd have to choose Juniper by Alchemy Yarns of Transformation. The club yarn colorway was just amazing - mostly vivid green with some blue & a little electric yellow/green. It almost glowed & made perfect birthday socks for my green loving grandson. It is also the springiest, most elastic sock yarn I've ever knit - & very soft too. Still it's held up to a 7 year old who loves to slide along their hardwood floors in his stocking feet.

Beverly J. Killick

When Allison started her computer sock business, I purchased CTH Potluck yarn and knitted their Glitzy Lace Pattern, which is the pair on Allison's cover plus inside her Sock Album. I was thrilled about this, but the best part is this. The socks have been worn for "years", also used wash machine but never the dryer, and get this - they look good, shape is still great and I love them. Now how is this for a "Testimonial?" Bev

Susan

I think that the Lornas Laces third anniversary colour has to be a huge favourite.

Bettye B

Congratulations on 6 years! Best of wishes in your new endeavor. My favorite purchase was the anniversary kit a could if years back with the brown and pink yarn. It's still beautiful yarn today!!! I look forward to 'visiting' your store in pictures since I live in Texas.

Cyndy Landers

I just loved the Tillie Thomas yarn to make fingerless mitts out of. they were scrumptious. Since I know you don't carry that any more I guess the Tanis purple label is a very close second. and a very happy sixth anniversary to you Allison!!!

quinn

Congratulations on your anniversary! Nothing beats an entire website of sock yarn!

I would love to try the Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere (yum!) in Lucky Stone.

Thanks for having a giveaway - the winner will have a lot of fun choosing :)

A pair of heels and toes socks I made my sister-in-law for Christmas would up on her quilt club blog, everyone was so impressed. The close-up of the heel looked so good I couldn't believe it. No holes!

Stockannette

Thanks for posting pics of the former post office! Congrats... and this Shelridge Farms Handpainted caught my eye http://www.simplysockyarn.com/servlet/Detail?no=2044

Rebecca

I just bought the Amish Clothesline Kit. I couldn't believe how quickly it arrived. I'm trying to be disciplined and finish my other projects first but after holding it I'm not sure my will power will last.

Sheri

Hi. =) What a generous giveaway, that is so very sweet of you.

It was very difficult to narrow down a selection to just one yarn. I think I would go with Dream in Color, Starry: 470 Into the Mystic. I love Starry and the subtle colors used in this reminds me of a storybook fable. Mystic woodlands and magical waters. It's very pretty! And let's not forget the sparkly silver flecks.

I love love love love love Sock yarn!!! Your store is completely new to me but a store for sock yarn!?!?!?!?! I think I'm in heaven!!!

If I won, I would put it toward a purchase of 2 skeins of DIC SC Global Mix and 2 skeins of DIC SC Slippery Trail. Smooshy with cashmere?!?!?!?!?! Are you serious!!!! I want to make matching socks and shawls with that yarn!

CyndyC

All of the yarn is wonderful so i have to say that the mug was my favorite item. Just right.

Chia

The selection is great but I haven't been able to afford to by yet. I've just been ogling for a few years. The yarn that I would snatch up is the String Theory Continuum sock yarn. I love that the yarn stripes with predictable repeats. That takes extra effort!

Sophia

My favorite and most desired yarn is Madelinetosh, Tosh Sock and blackcurrant colorway is just lovely!

Lynne

My favorite purchase was a gift package for my sister-in-law. It included a GoKnits pouch, stitch markers, and several skeins of yarn, including 2 of Shibui. I had a great time picking out all of the components, and Allison made sure that the package was beautifully and professionally presented. The best part of all: we made Karen very happy!

Debbie H

I think my fav is Dream in Color Smooshy yarn and a pretty pale peachy, yellow color. I making the Wrought Iron socks from Wendy Johnson's book. Thanks! Debbie

Kathy

I think my favorite has to be the Claudia Handpainted I scored on sale!

janet

Hand Maiden Casbah. I have all the kits that have included Casbah. Currently I'm knitting socks in the Glacier colorway--a seashell and waves pattern--and they are stunning! And it's hard to believe something so beautiful is also easy care. Thanks, Allison, for making so many over-the-top yarns available to us.

Emily

I haven't made a purchase yet, I'm sorry to say, but that Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere looks absolutely scrumptious! I love the Bronzed Lake colorway.

Wanda

You never cease to amaze me with your great service! My current fav is the String Theory Continuum. What a great looking result!

Veronica

Not sure if you carry this anymore, but a few years ago I bought Crystal Palace Kid Merino and used it to make a Grannie Smith Cardigan. It's become a favorite and it gets compliments every time I wear it!

April

First, I love absolutely everything I get from you! I especially love the special kits, anniversary, mother's day, christmas...try to get 'em every time I can :) Can't wait to see the new store!

Zilliah

Oh gosh, I'm so glad I found your store! So much gorgeous yarn....I really really want Tanis Fiber Arts, Purple Label Cashmere Sock: Teal.

Elise

Congratulations- I love all the yarn that I have purchased from you and don't regret any of my purchases! Can't pick just one- If pressed I'd have to say the kit with Joe's mug and I love DIC Smooshy with cashmere!

Miriam Fenster

Everything I have ever bought from your store I have loved--yarn, needles, and project bags. but my personal favorite is this year's February Valentine kit. The grey, with the pink peeking through, just was oh! and the stitch markers-I still smile with glee everytime I use them

Karalee

My favorite purchase from SSYC is the yarn that made my favorite pair of socks (so far) - Fleece Artist merino, and the socks are just plain stockinette, but so comfy! I love shopping at SSYC for yarns I can't find at my LYS.

Nathanne Verner

My favorite yarn from Simply Socks Yarn Company is the first shipment from the connoisseurs yarn club last December. It was 6 small skeins of Unique Colours sock yarn strung together, with the theme of Van Gogh's Starry Night. I call this my "affordable art" because it gives me the same excitement that I get from seeing a great painting or piece of art. I am still looking for the perfect shawl pattern for it.
