One of the best things about Noro yarn is their gorgeous color progressions. It's almost like a knitting narcotic- watching the colors change from one to the next is certainly addictive. It's the kind of yarn that just makes you mutter "just ONE more row..." before realizing that you'd stayed up until 1am watching Doctor Who reruns and knitting, much to the dismay of your packed morning schedule.
When Noro first came out with their Kureyon Sock four years ago, I was barely able to keep it in stock. Sock knitters had been waiting for several years for Noro to recognize our need to see their colors on our feet, and are pleas had finally been answered. WHen the store got a 4 dozen of each color in stock, they sold out nearly immediately. The need was that great. And while knitters loved the yarn, we all wished it was softer.
Then Noro released Silk Garden Sock, a slightly more luxurious and softer blend. Still, we wanted more.
Now, Noro has released their Taiyo Sock, which is a cotton/wool/silk/nylon blend that is their softest sock yarn yet, and gives us new cotton blend that is appropriate for those of us who like to wear different fibers once in awhile. The colors are fabulous. And while this yarn still isn't quite as soft as a typical low micron merino sock yarn, it's definitely a big step in that direction.
Three of the colors are not available right now, but I'm hoping to be able to get those in a couple months.
I also have for you a restock in Three Irish Girls Adorn (merino/nylon) and Glenhaven Cashmerino Sock (merino/cashmere/nylon), and this includes a few new not-to-miss colors like Alice, Gwendolyn and Kate.
And finally, for those of you who have been patiently waiting for the Anniversary Kit to be available, the wait is nearly over. I'll post early next week when those are for sale, and I do expect them to sell as quickly as the kits usually do. If you really think you want one, I recommended ordering it as soon as you decide/see it because the average sellout time for the kits has been under 8 hours. And as much as I'd like to be able to get more for you all, each part is hand made/designed, so I can't really shackle the artisans to the cellar floor until they make several hundred more pieces.... as much as I'd like to.... heh. I kid.
I need to get a second job so I can get more of these gorgeous yarns!
