lonesome dove
(because some people are lonely on Valentines Day, and yarn is a good companion)

Lisa Viviano

Written in Stone.

Janet Miller

This colorway immediately reminded me of a granite that outcrops in the Front Range of the Rockies called the Silver Plume granite. It has large chunks of pinkish/purple feldspar and megacrystals of silver mica. I guess you could name it Silver Plume.

Kathy

Reminds me of the sky in the morning sometimes. My choice would be Pink Dawn.

Sheree

What great names above. I like Cherry Blossom Haze! Haze for the smoky overall color and cherry blossom for the pink that is seen through the haze.

Sue

Maybe not very romantic, but my first impression was of a cute furry animal ..... how about Little Mouse?

Rachel

It reminds me of delicate woodland flowers like the pink lady slippers or maybe wild geranium

Janelle

Dawn. The pink reminds me of how the sky looks when it begins to get light in the morning. It's lovely!

Kim

Heart and Soul....reminds me of a calm and happy place

Mary C.

Being a Rocky Mountain resident, I second the "Silver Plume" suggestion. It's perfect!

Kari

It reminds me of a beautiful pink rhyolite I sampled as a student in Australia. The prettiest one, from my perspective, was the Beryl Creek Rhyolite. What about Beryl?

Nancy

Be mine!

Sharon Hansen

Twisted Love

Debby

My 4 year old granddaughter looked at this and thought it should be called pink kiss. I like it, too.

Sharon Hansen

Okay. Who won the 12 days of sock yarn?

Allison

I'll post next week the 12 winners. Til then, keep these names coming! All great ideas!

Connie Kinsman

I think "Pink Lady" fits this colorway perfectly. We (ladies) blush and we can be blue sometimes. Hopefully we are blushing more than blue!!

Andrea W

"Dusk." Where I live when the sun gets ready to set the sky turns a soft gray color and the pinks peek through the clouds. I love these colors. Beautiful!

Deborah

Reminds me of one of those rare pink sky mornings in San Francisco, so my name would be Morning Fog.

Chris

Promise of Spring - color peeking through the clouds.

Sarah

Rock Dove, which is the little used common name of the common pigeon. The color reminds me of the gray feathers that can have a pink sheen to them. And I like the idea of finding beauty in something most people consider commonplace.

Jan

Well, knowing that the inspiration came from granite, I'd call it Tough Love!

Patricia Richardson

I vote for Pink Kiss. That's a lovely name.

Dawn--the first light of day against the last remnants of night.

Chris

Rock my Heart!

Kt

Shot through the heart

Vickie

Lavender Smudge or Lavender Smoke or Charcoal Pink

Allise

Swoon!

Alison

First blush. Or for something cuter, peekaboo, as you mentioned the pink peeking through.

Barbara

Granite Rose, Granite Blush

Nancy

Love Comes Softly. The gray shading to pink reminds me how love comes softly into your life.

Jalinn

Don't take my love for granite!

LoraW

Heart of Stone.

Carolyn frank

Smoke screen is what I thought about when I looked at the yann

Charlotte

February rose

captainsharmie

Pink Flower Meadows or Lavender Meadows

Diane

Engraved In My Heart or
Your Love Broke Through

OzKnitter

Cupid's Path. Makes me think of a stone garden path with bouquets of flowers alongside.

Marylu

How about "Pink Granite"

April

Rainy Day Sky was my daughter's suggestion....I think "Morning" Dove :) It looks lovely and we can't wait to get it!

Joanne

Don't Take Me For Granite (sorry had to do it)

Mwknitter

It reminds me of the chunks of granite I saw on the floor of Death Valley. I love Joanne's suggestion of Don't Take Me for Granite.

Barb Tryon

I think it should be called stormy weather.
We do have nasty weather with skies that look like that in Wisconsin in February.

mary

Skybluepink

Nicky

Barely Blushing or Brings Tears to My Eyes.

Jennifer

I second April's Mourning Dove. That fits the mostly gray with just a hint of softness in the pink perfectly. Mourning doves are gray but such gentle beautiful creatures.

Brenda

Kissed... soft grey with a kiss of pink.

janet

Morning in the Mountains. It reminds me of foggy, early morning when it is damp and rainy. Beautiful just like the West Virginia mountains.

LN in Texas

Lavender Haze

Melissa

How about "Misty Morning"?

blogless grace

Smokey Dawn--it has that rose color that a foggy dawn sometimes has. But I like a lot of the earlier names.

moiraeknittoo

Rock as inspiration? Valentine's Day? Cashmere? Name = Afterglow. :D

joan

Ashes of Roses. Anyone remember Meggie Cleary's dress in The Thorn Birds?

bunny

"Misty Memories"

Patty McD

I look at it and see Soft Perfection!

p-la

It reminds me of the blush of first love.

Sharon

I think it should be called Hidden Heart because the pink (heart) is peaking through.

Diane Bush

I immediately thought: Hugs and kisses!

Lori Corman

Palomino Purple....

tammy pell

Faint of Heart! is the name.

kim

First Light.

Shirley A Ryan

It looks like my granite counter top...Pink Granit

Shirley A Ryan

oops... Pink Granite

Pat Juska

The colorway destined for your Valentine kit is outstanding! A suggested name is "Sweet Slate". Can't wait for this kit to become available!

Linda Hope

How about Glazed Marble

from your Canadian friend Linda

Teal Cuttlefish

Another Colorado resident here; most of the Silver Plume granite is used in the state's capital -- how about Colorado Granite?

Elizabeth

The cowl I just finished knitting for my daughter! Say thank you Em! Summer sunrise.

Nancy Gappa

My thought is December Love. The grey reminding me of an older hair color with a faint pink complexion. Or maybe December romance. The younger knitters may not realize that they use to refer to older women as being in their December years.

Laura

Peek a Boo Passion: I like the thought of a hidden pink passion peeking through the grey. Sort of like the passion that remains in true love; sometimes hidden by the "grey" of winter, life and trials, yet always there waiting to work its way to peek through! Yes, I am a true romantic! Plus I love this color and appreciate that it is NOT red. Don'te get me wrong I LOVE red, but it is nice to see a non-traditional valentine color :-)
