Yes, it's a rare weekend post from the snowcovered farmland in NE Indiana.
Last year, I started a new tradition for Simply Socks Yarn Company, the 12 Days of Sock Yarn. From Dec 13 through Dec 24 you have a chance to win a special knitterly gift each day.
How do you join in? Simply visit the SSYC Blog everyday from Dec.13th through the 24th and answer the holiday or knitting related question in the comments section before 6am EST the following day. You'll automatically be entered to win the gift for that day. If you participate everyday you'll have 12 chances to win (one chance each day). And yes, you can win more than one day.
You don't have to participate in any particular holiday to win anything- you just have to want some awesome free yarn or goodies. I have some special offerings from dyers for you and a few sock project bags, so don't miss out. I'll post the winners here likely at the end of the month.
Are there particular holiday or knitting related questions you'd like to see asked one of the 12 days? Just e-mail me at allison@simplysockyarn.com and I'll fit a few in.
Where do you get the second set of hands to finish all the Christmas gift projects???

How do you figure out what size feet people have without actually asking them so that the socks you are knitting will fit?

What's the best knitting related gift you ever got?

I've not thought of yarn for decorations... though I do like the felted cones that become trees... I have made crochet garland, using crochet cotton. And I have been working on a garland of gold beads as the base, crocheting down one side, and back up the other... a multi-year project.

I have over the past ten years made Christmas stockings for my 3 daughters and their families.
