I enjoyed quite a bit of knitting time this weekend and I have an almost-finished sock to show for it. This new project is from Opal's third collection celebrating the work of Austrian artist Friedenreich Hundertwasser. Color is 750.
I'm really pleased with this simple stockinette sock. I cast on 68 stitches and knit about an inch and an half of 2x2 rib before starting the meditative knit after knit after knit. It fits perfectly and it's the kind of sock that I'll like wearing around the house or with jeans. It's a little, colorful secret that I'll forget about until I look down and it brings a smile.
Really nice. I love socks like this.

Opal makes the best colorways & the Hundertwasser ones may be their best.

Is the weight a little heavier than usual Opal yarns? Beautiful self striping pattern!

If I had the discipline to choose just one favorite yarn, Opal HW would be it. Its an absolute joy to knit with.
