First off, have you signed up for Sock Madness? Carole's shaking things up again with a little (or not so little, really) competition. If you are game, or want to check out the details, go HERE. You could win stuff from me or others. Mmmmm, free loot...
So last week you may have noticed that I took the week off blogging. Sometimes I just don't feel like blogging, or feel that I really don't have anything interesting to share (my life is rather boring sometimes!). So rather than making up a boring old list or detailing something that is otherwise quite yawn-worthy, I just kept quiet. But now I do have something quite nice to share.... new yarn.
Cherry Tree Hill has added a new variegated color and a few new solids to their line-up. I quite like the new solids, as they are medium/somewhat muted tones: Apricot, Blossom, Dove and Mauve. I really like the Mauve, shown at left. It's a rose-tinged cocoa color and would make lovely lace socks. I also think it would coordinate nicely with the new variegated colorway, Caribou Creek, also shown here.
And for those of you who have snagged up a skein of Creatively Dyed's Ocean yarn (the merino/seacell), I now have some Merino Sock for you to drool over. You can read more about Creatively Dyed Yarn in a previous post here. One of my favorites from this batch is a color that is exclusive to Simply Socks, MSE2. A few of you have asked me about the names of the yarn. While most dyers choose to label their colorways with a name like Summer Sunset or Winter Thaw, something that somewhat describes the colorway, other companies choose to give a letter/number combination. Koigu and Creatively Dyed both do this- when you test and hand dye MANY color combinations, sometimes not reproducing them again, it can be easier to do a letter/number combination to keep track of everything.
Thanks for supporting Sock Madness, Allison!

You could blog about your new home. How do you like rural living?

I missed you, but I have to admit, it was pretty funny to see Mullet Baby every time I clicked over here to see if you had added anything. How's the unpacking going? Is James helping yet? And by helping, I mean crawling up and into the boxes and tossing things out of them and eating stuff just to check if it's food or not.
