I could get used to this work-free weekend thing. Like two weeks ago, I did absolutely no work this weekend b/c Joe sent me to Michigan to a B&B for a girls spa weekend! It was wonderful. I haven't yet been away from James for more than 3 hours, so this was quite a step for me. I thought being without him would be crippling, but it was fine and I had a wonderful and relaxing time! I forgot how it felt to be stress-free!
So now that I'm back to work and life, I'm catching up on a few things here on the blog. First off, my test knitters. No, I haven't forgotten you! I've chosen a handful of sock knitters from close to 80 entries. I will be sending an e-mail out to the few who got in later today or tomorrow. Please don't e-mail me asking if you were chosen- I just don't have time to reply to dozens of these e-mails. You will get an e-mail if you were chosen- and a few of you might be put on "standby" status if one of the test knitters can't help out any more, or if I happen to get A LOT of yarn to test at one time. Since only about 5% of you will be test knitters, please don't feel left out. I'll pick new knitters in a year or so. For the test knitters who have a blog and/or want their identities to be revealed, I'll list them here a bit later.
Second, the second edition of the SSYC Sock Yarn Club. For those of you who signed up, you will be getting an e-mail in a week or less telling you that your first special edition yarn has shipped! No, I won't tell you which dyer is coming in February- you'll just have to wait and see!
Third, have a mentioned that James is crawling? Yeah, at 6.5 months he decided to become mobile, which has changed things around here quite a bit. He now enjoys going after my boxes of overflowing yarn. See here? He caught himself a skein of Fleece Artis Sea Wool! Just like his mama...
Yes, I remember those days. We had gates up everywhere. Some were even stacked on top of each other because the last one was a climber. He has very good taste in yarn at such an early age ....yay James

What fun! We always did the "child proofing as we went along." Like, oh great, he can reach that, we better put that up. Good taste though.
