That's me and the bun at 5 months- taken on Valentine's Day before going out for the night. What? Like I'm going to take a picture sans makeup when the 8 people who read this will see me at my worst? When I see myself in a picture (after gasping in horror b/c who really likes to look at yourself especially when it looks like you have a square ass??) I realize that I am actually pregnant. I didn't realize that I had a belly. I mean, I'm still wearing all my normal clothes, they just fit differently.
This makes me think that I really should start knitting a bit for the baby. But I don't know what I want to knit. And I should maybe think of names. But I don't like the ones Joe suggests. And I should think of maybe buying stuff for a nursery. But then I get overwhelmed with all the things I don't know. And then I tell myself that why make decisions now when I'm likely to change my mind in, oh, about 4 minutes? This is my frame of mind. *sigh*
So... yarn.... not only did the gorgeous new Lorna's Laces and Claudia colors arrive (see previous post), you'll now also see the new Cascade Fixation solid colors and new Crystal Palace Panda Cotton solid colors too! It's wonderful to be surrounded by so much beautiful fiber, but knowing that it is on its way back out the door just makes me want to stash it!
You look adorable.

You do look great!!! Don't worry about all the other stuff! My husband and I didn't talk about names until about 11pm the night before I went in to be induced! And I didn't knit one single thing for my baby. (Which is a good thing, 'cuz nothing would have fit! He was quite big! Even the hospital hats wouldn't stay on his head!)Just relax and take each day as it comes.

Alison, you are just adorable. Seriously! I'm glad you decided to post the belly pic! It's really cute!

Maybe you should knit a baby hat to start. Those can make anyone happy. Maybe some booties to match? I don't know if you have the Itty Bitty Hats book, but there is lots of inspiration in there. (plus if your hospital is like ours, the hats that they give you are sometimes, um shall we say, hideous?) You don't want your little baby sporting one of those!
Your belly is cute! Enjoy it!

We had no names picked out for my youngest daughter. On the way to the hospital my husband had a song stuck in his head with the name Sarah in it, so we named her that. We weren't even crazy about the song, but figured that was meant to be her name. She is 15 now and we LOVE hearing that song on the radio whenever it happens to play.

You look great and you'll forget about everything when you hold your little one in your arms for the first time. There's just nothing like it. Start making your little one her first pair of hand knit socks. :) My 7 month old is in love with her Lorna's Lace socks in the rainbow colorway.

Make that 9 people who read!
You look great. Glowing and happy which is exactly how a pregnant woman should look. Everything will fall in place when the time is right. You have heard of nesting, right? lol.

I stumbled across your website while looking for sock yarn one day - and love it! I'm looking forward to having enough cash in my stash envelope to make a hefty purchase. After many years of childbearing and raising, I have taken up the hobby of knitting once again and have added socks to my repetoir. I love making socks and wish I would have taken the time to learn when I had babies around to knit for. You are blessed and beautiful. Enjoy every day of this.

Hmmmm, from experience - tiny socks stay on tiny feet better than booties. I never used knitted hats, much. But I did like little cardigans. Layering is good.
For your nursery list - one comfy glider. And two boppy pillows - best thing invented for feeding baby. Keep one in the nursery for night feedings. The other one either elsewhere in the house or in the car for traveling. ;-)

De-lurking here to tell you that you have TWELVE (!) readers 8-)
You shouldn't worry about how you look -- cuz you look beautiful.
When I was pregnant (11 years ago, now. Eeek!) we had a boy's name picked out in about 2 days. It took us four-and-a-half months of haggling back and forth to come up with a girl's name. Good thing we did, too, as our little bundle of joy turned out to be female. (I'm in the "Surprise me" camp, I didn't want to know ahead of time.)

you look lovely! Good lucy picking out a name, I held a contest on my blog for name suggestions. Mike and I couldn't agree on a name for #4!

You look beautiful! I didn't have a name for my second until after she was born. For some reason, we thought we'd wait until we met her and her name came to me while I was nursing. Sometimes things just gotta come gradually. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed. Enjoy this time and don't feel like you have to rush. Love the new yarn colors, by the way.

You do have more readers than you thought! Great way to get us lurkers to come out into the sun! You look mahhhvalous. That "state of mind" is maddening eh?
Will it suffice to just browse through all the wonderful baby patterns out there?
