So the Koigu is flying outta here! Which kind of makes me sad b/c I would like to keep much of it for myself. But that wouldn't make for a very successful business, would it?! As much as I'd like to make SSYC my own personal stash enhancement program, it doesn't really work that way! But at least I get to see it all.
Things are so busy around here that I've decided to hold off on the last newsletter of the year, and instead just publish one in January. But I have a great interview with a writer and knitter to include. More on that when it gets closer to the time....
So, yeah, yarn has been flying out of here at record speed, and there's something new that's kind of hindering my ability to pack yarn. And that thing is.... my growing belly. No, I didn't over-indulge this Thanksgiving. OK, I did, but that's not the reason. Joe and I are having a baby! I'm about 10 weeks, due around July 6. I feel pretty good- a bit more tired than usual and I have a bit of nausea, but nothing too bad. So, while this won't turn into a Mommy Blog, I most likely will have lots of questions and freak outs that lots of you can help me with, I hope.
We have gotten around to telling all the family, and everyone was super happy. I've found that when we tell people, they all have ten thousand questions, and I don't have any answers. Joe and I are just still so shocked that we are actually going to be PARENTS, that we can't really get past that. It's something that we have wanted awhile, but then when it actually happens, well, there's just shock. Like "What have we DONE?! We still watch South Park! How can we be PARENTS!?"
*Edited to ad- 20 minutes later.....
I was so excited to tell my news, that I forgot to mention that Lantern Moon DP needles are now available. Three different hard woods are available in the store. You asked for 'em, so here they are!
Hi Allison! I am SO thrilled for you and Joe! Parenthood is wonderful...well, for the most part anyway. I'm a mom and a grandmom, and it's fun. I rank it at the top of my list of favorite things to do (or to be), with sock knitting a second! Some days I have more control over the knitting than I do the kids! I really am so happy for you!!

Congratulations on the baby!! TOTALLY get the OMG what did we do??? DH and I were trying to get pregnant and when it finally happened it was like, UH OH!! And you can still watch South Park, they dont get it for a couple of years!! And now you have lots of little projects to do!

Congratulations!!
I think the fact that you still watch South Park makes you ideal parents! Having a sense of humor is very important as a parent. Besides, being stodgy went the way of June Cleaver and Lassie.
The tiredness should only last a little longer. Can't promise that about the nausea though...I had it 24/7 with all the girls. Hang in there and take it easy, it is worth it!

Congratulations!!
Don't let the South Park thing bother you. I think hip parents make the best parents. I know your kid(s) will love you for it!!

Congratulations! All those small things are really cute made out of sock yarns -- not too hot, but still warm 'cause they're wool!

I've tried to browse the lantern moon dpns twice now, and each time it says nothing is found. Is there something wrong with the store, or did they sell out that fast?
Posted by: Andrea | December 09, 2006 at 07:49 PM
The links seem to be working fine- the links take you to the needle page, and you choose which type of Lantern Moon needles you want to browse through. All the needles are available, and all the link work for me from several computers. I'm not sure what the problem is, feel free to e-mail me if you like.

HOOOORAAAY AND YIPPEEE!! You just won't believe what a joy that baby will bring! You and Joe are in for the ride of your lives and the love of your lives. You will learn to love and care for one another more just because of this new person you and he have made togeather. This is what family is all about! Both my boys are 20 and 18 and I miss when they were small.
Now! Knit socks and clothes for your little one. You have made so many things for others. Now you can knit things for this very special other person! Again,CONGRATULATIONS and may this blessing truly bring joy to your lives!!
