SSYC just received our first shipment of Online sock yarn. Using all the e-mails and comments you left, I chose to carry in the store Kit 71 (called Highland Color) and Kit 72 (Walking Color)- eight colors in each kit. The colors are quite nice and the yarn is similar to a Regia or Opal. The best part? The price. The generous 100 gram skein, plenty for one pair of socks, costs only $12. Comparable superwash sock yarn, for example Regia or Opal, runs about $5 more. I'm expecting one more kit that isn't yet available til fall. Of course, I'll post when it arrives.
SSYC also just received a shipment of Shelridge Farms Soft Touch Ultra. We were out of several of the colorways, including Fury, Gunmetal Blue, and Opal, and all have been replenished. You will now find all 9 of the heathered colorways Shelridge Farms offers on our webiste. Many of these colors are especially nice if you have a person in your life that is "scared" of color, like my husband Joe. The colors are tame enough for Joe, but the heathering brings in some interest.
Coming Soon: More Fleece Artist Merino! I'm expecting 6 boxes from Nova Scotia. Some has already started trickling in and you will see that colors like Cosmic Dawn, Autumn, and Rose Garden are already back out our site. As more arrives, I will post about it. You can expect to see 5 or 6 new colorways- colorways like Sangria, Glacier, Woodland and Cornflower which are available in the Hand Maiden line but I requested in Merino. I can barely wait to see what these colorways look like in person! I hope that everything arrives in the next day or so. If it does, I will try to get it all up on the website by Monday.
Oh, and I almost forgot, more Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Yarn should be here soon- in solids, multicolors and stripes. The first 1/3 of the big order will arrive in about one week, and more will trickle in over the next month. This will replenish every color that LL's dyes. And I ordered A LOT, so hopefully those really popular colors will last more than a week this time. And I was able to create few new colors to offer JUST at SSYC! More on that when they arrive.
I am looking forward to the new yarns. The highland heathers look especially nice, and as I love the fleece artist yarn, I think new colors will be great. I am consistently amazed at all the wonderful combinations of colors the different yarn producers come up with. I am glad things are working out so well for SSYC.
