I've got some good news for Opal Devotees- SSYC's getting a big ol' shipment of Opal sock yarn soon. And there are some great surprises!
First, part of the Rainforest Collection is going to be available again. We will be getting Zebra, Owl, Fish, Flamingo, and Parrot. Only a few dozen skeins of each, but at least we are able to get some! So, if you are one of the knitters who has been HOPING this would be available just one more time, you should find it in a couple weeks. Of course, I'll post here when it actually arrives.
Second, Opal is also re-running their Unisolids in the colors Black and Natural. Those will be available soon as well.
Third, the newest Opal Handpainted color will soon be available:Summer Night Bouquet. The US Opal Distributor isn't able to get much of this, so I was able to get what I could. Like the Hagebutte color, I don't know how long it will be in stock, but I hope at least two weeks. Don't worry- I'll be getting some better pics of this that display the yarn better, and not the tacky flower arrangement!
Fourth, we are getting some Opal Petticoat! In the colors that we are out of and in the other 3-4 colors that weren't available before! Unfortunately, the ONE color in the collection that won't be available is the very popular 1920- the pastels. But we will have all the other colors. Want pics? Me too. Will post when I get them.
AND fifth (makes me think of Sally O'Mally on SNL- "I'm 50! 50 years old!")- I MAY be able to get some Opal Silk/Wool sock yarn. This may be available, but I won't really know til it arrives. If I am able to get it, it will be one of the Feelings colorways, but I don't know which one yet. I know, I'm being vague.
The last thing.... The price of Opal yarn is going up three dollars a skein. I won't be raising the price for a few days or a week, so you can still get the old price on the yarn we have on the site. But soon I will have to raise the price approx. 3 dollars. The combination of increased product and shipping cost from the German manufacturer to the US Distributor, plus the value of the EURO, well... the combo, it ain't good for the US wholesaler, me, or you. Blasted economy.
Awesome!! I can see you have plans for my summer bonus this year, evil woman!!
