Over the weekend, I finished one of my Blooming Feet socks! I did the majority of the knitting during the BIG GAME, but stopped knitting for the commercials. I'm one of THOSE people who couldn't really care less about football but will *shush* everyone during the ads. And some of those ads were fuh-ney. Especially the one with MacGuyver. That one was the best, I thought. So, Joe and I (and the half finished sock) left our comfy couch for someone else's comfy couch. Joe has this ritual of watching the Superbowl at his own house, but this year decided it was okay to leave since the house we were visiting would be full of Steelers fans and Terrible Towels. Joe's from western PA, so Pittsburgh's his team.
So, I finished one sock and have started on the second one. I hope that I have enough yarn for the second one. I might have to dip into a second skein, because I made the sock with about a 9" cuff. I figure my pal is from someplace with similar winter weather as Indiana and she would appreciate longer socks that could keep the lower portion of her calves warm too.
I have started thinking about the yarn I would like to use for my Sockapaloooza sock pal. She likes pinks and browns- what a coincidence, considering the SSYCs website colors! Any yarn suggestions for someone who likes pinks and browns?
Take a look at this list of Sockapaloooza knitters! Over 600 from all over the world- and so many new sock knitters too.
Doesn't Fleece Artist have a merino in an Origin's colorway that is pinks and browns?

Yes- Origins is earthy like that. Depending on what that colorway looks like when our shipment arrives in a month, that could be a good option. Since those hand painted yarns can vary quite alot, I'll have to wait and see what it looks like... patience, patience..

I have to agree that the McGuyver commercial was the best, but the Magic Refridgerator comes in at a close second. By the way, Cheryl and I are glad you and Joe broke tradition and came over to our house for the Game. I hope my intense game watching wasn't too much. I can't help the fact that I am one of those people who will get up and scream at a TV during a football game. I don't think Cheryl has grown accustomed to it yet, but she likes football and that's a start.
I'm glad to hear your venture is going well, and I hope it will continue to do so. See you soon.

Your sock is really nice! It looks so soft and I am always a sucker for green!

Great green sock! I saw some pink and brown yarn here: http://bklynhandspunyarnsales.blogspot.com/ Looks just like you or your sockpal might like it. They appear to be sold out but there's definitely more to come I guess.
