The sock yarn is lovely - and like you I feel like I get inspired first by the yarn, then the pattern. I think I've got the perfect yarn (already in my stash) but I am still feeling forced to wait until the yarns I orderd a week or so ago arrive...have a fear that when those get here I'll love them and have to restart the project!!

The pattern...my lord, so many to choose from, I just have to wait until I make my final yarn pick to then decide on the pattern.

Can't wait to see how yours start coming along!!

Wow, that yarn is lovely. Really lovely! I have ordered but have yet to receive the Socks, Socks, Socks book, but when I do I plan on looking closely at that pattern you mention. I never thought myself a big fan of green, but that yarn makes me see green socks in my future as well! Beautiful!

OH Allison! That green yarn is divine! That will sure be a great pair of socks! I look forward to seeing those develop!

Teyani

that yarn is fabulous! Who ever is your sock pal will love it!!

Have you tried any of Sockbug's patterns? The Lacey Scallops look great with a variegated yarn and also, since it is in the green family, Elfine's Socks might work well.

Liz

Gorgeous yarn! I'm about halfway through my first Classy Slip Up sock in a blue Trekking XXL, and am just loving how it's turning out. Another nice pattern for variegated yarn is Crusoe from knitty.com.

Karen

Beautiful yarn! I have never tried that one yet but it looks lovely!

Oh my... that green is DELICIOUS! Ohhhh... are you my sock pal?!!!!! I would *heart* that yarn... i've never knit with it... is it good? nice and bouncy? Have good stitch definition? I am dying to try that JayWalker pattern, but no time as of yet.... will have to make time, right? I just bought my bloomin' feet yarn for my sock pal from your store! What a great sock yarn store! I am so glad to see the variety and the very good pricing... :) I thought, I need yarn for socks, Allison owns a shop online, it's for Bloomin' Feet... so, tada! Purchase made!

I think the Classy Slip-Up would be great! I recently tried it in Mounain Colors Bearfoot and it looked gorgeous. Sadly, I had to rip it out. There were some guage issues.

Oh, don't tell me there were gauge issues.....

I made the Classy Slip-up for my mom in Koigu and she really liked it. It was not a difficult pattern (even for me, a relative beginner). It showed off the variegations in the yarn nicely, and while I thought the pattern would look sort of boring and utilitarian, that wasn't the way it turned out at all. It looks sturdy but elegant. Go for it.
