There's nothing quite like Opal Yarn to get my knitting mojo going. The newest self patterning collection from Opal definitely has got me knitting in every spare moment; at the ball park (that's where our farmer's market is held) while the kids run around the stands, in the car, and even at the movie theater. If you want an addictive knit, I recommend grabbing one or more of these ASAP. This is color 9365 and I already have my next color chosen, though I totally reserve the right to change my mind for one of the others! Like this one that looks like watermelon socks!
This has been such an enjoyable knit. Knitting is my relaxation, so I usually knit at night in the semi-dark while watching TV. It's awesome to wake in the morning, enjoy my cup of coffee and see how the colors develop as the sun rises and I get natural light. Yes, I get up before dawn. I have little ones. *yawn*
I made great progress on the foot while at a children's movie this week. I'm sooo over mediocre kids flicks, but knitting gets me through. I was able to knit the entire way through the movie (and one of you won a ball in the Instagram contest as a result!) and I only had to stop once and go find light to pick up a dropped stitch. I'm sure I looked like a weirdo hunched over the lighted trash can in the hallway, but whatever. Knitters have priorities, am I right?
The weather here improved greatly this Friday and we brought out all the back porch furniture and spent a fair amount of time just sitting and relaxing. Having just moved into this home 6 months ago, I haven't yet spent a spring and summer here, but I think this exact spot will be my happy place.
Finally, I'm at the toe. Just a few more rows and I'll be doing the Kitchener dance!
We already have a new Opal collection on its way this week. And it's a first, a Light collection. It's 25% lighter weight (thinner) than normal fingering weight Opal, so great for lighter weight socks. Think for warmer climates or thin socks that you want fitting into tighter shoes. Or if you just want to try something new!
