Over the past several years, I've accumulated quite a sizable stash of single skein of highly variegated sock yarns. It seems I can't resist those tempting, squishy skeins, even though I haven't a clue what I'm going to knit with them when they make their way into my life (and admittedly many of them came from Simply Socks!).
I'd like to do something with these skeins, but I'm not in the frame of mind to do socks right now. I'd prefer to do a project I can keep on circular needles since I'll be enjoying quite a bit of traveling this summer, and the projects stay safer for me on circs when I travel. I know that designs like Hitchhiker are really popular with hand painted yarns, but I'd like some other ideas. I'm thinking I'd like to knit eight or nine shawls or shawlettes this summer so that I have some pretty gifts to give the women in my family for Christmas.
Can you Knitters recommend some single skein (or two skein) projects that I can use along with my hand painted skeins?
