You may know I adore stripes. I did create an entire new yarn line a couple years ago just because I had to have them at all times. But do you know what has taken my love of striped socks to a new level? Sparkly. Striping. Sock yarn.
I worked with Louise at Biscotte & Cie to come up with a super special yarn idea for Halloween this year. The result is a kit that is spooky yet adorable. These skeins certainly fit that bill, don't you think? Yes. Skeins. Plural. 50 grams of the striping purple/orange/lime/black and 50 grams of the black so that you can knit these socks. Sqeee!
The yarn isn't the only squee-worthy thing in this kit. You'll also receive a set of Worry Less, Knit More postcards, a wood shawl pin (b/c I get so many request for simple, nice shawl pins for your sock-yarn shawlettes), and this set of stitch markers.
Designing our holiday/themed sock kits is one of the most fun parts of my job, perhaps second only to the embarassing dance parties the team and I have in the early morning (oh, Justin Timberlake, you make us 30-something ladies dance like fools in our little sock yarn shop). The downside is that because nearly every part of the kit is handmade, there are never enough to go around and they sell out in just a few hours. So I try and give you all a week's notice so you can think about it get your mouse-finger ready. I expect this to go up for sale October 1, or close after, and I'll post at the SSYC blog and Facebook and send out e-newsletters as usual. The cost of the kit will be $55 or less, and as usual you can add other items to the order to qualify for free US shipping with a $85 order. Perhaps these bags? Or these? Both new!
