There's something addictive about the combination of a truely awesome skein and a super easy knit. Just sitting back, and letting the yarn do all the work with a one-row pattern, it's a vacation for the brain.
Want to vacation with me? Combine one of the new colors of Zen Yarn Garden's Serenity 20 with the One Row Lace Scarf pattern, and just go on auto pilot. Sit on your back porch, or watch an episode of Newsroom, and allow your mind to wander. Then look down after 50 minutes and see that you've just created 8 inches or more of something that didn't even exist an hour before.
Everyone gets overwhelmed sometimes with lack of balance, with multitasking and seeing little results, with too many requirements and not enough fantasy. So take a wee vacation and find your own zen for awhile. The color I knit was a sample they sent me but if you want to do something similar, I think this is quite close.
Want something more challenging for the mind? Try Little Colonnade with one or Grashus with one or two skeins. What about combining two different colors into an awesome display that's sure to garner compliments? Try Spectra, Clockwork, Rockefeller. Apparently I'm on a Stephen West kick right now. Recommended by Rachael (your Shipping Diva): Sothia, Phi (yum), Nightlock, Jokulsarlon (try saying that three times), Lilac in the Wind, Metamorphosis, Lunaris, LongStuff. Rachael also has a recommendation for a coordinating hat: the freaking adorable Shortstuff Slouchie Beanie (now I want to knit this immediately). Ok, Rachael, you win. Your picks are totally adorable. Now I may be starting a striped shawl tonight. Dangit.
I'll make it even better for you. If you purchase two skeins of Zen Yarn Garden's Serenity 20 or two of Sweet Georgia's Silk Crush (another luxrious blend I keep staring at all day), I'll include a complimentary Pamper Package for you with a full size Soak Heel Cream (to really papmer those tooties), tasty chocolates, and another little surprise or two. Just my way of helping you relax and enjoy your zen. I have enough for the first 75 knitters, and this should last three days. So if you want to take advantage of this offer past Sept. 14, please e-mail to make sure the deal is still valid.
Here are some color combos of Zen that I think work well together, and if you are considering others and want us to take a look at what you're thinking before you order, you know where to find us.
