I always think of red when it comes to Valentine's Day. I did see a combination of red, orange, and fuschia made into squares with hearts in each square in intarsia. It was a knockout, so I think a stripe yarn with those three colors would be beautiful.

Susan

Browns and pinks with a very pale pink. A sort of dark chocolate brown and hot pink, with the similar colour but very pale.

Jennifer

Red, white, pink for Valentines day.

Or Orange,yellow cream

Lynn

Some chocolate browns with reds. Chocolate covered strawberries anybody????

LN in TX

Pastel pink & lavender, and bright pink, pastel pink & lavender.

brenda

NEON red - red red red! and white of course - boring i know......

Maureen

Pink and grey have ALWAYS been a favourite with me. For three...red, black and grey would be nice.

Alison

I like gray and pink a lot but would prefer more gray than pink, so perhaps 2 stripes of gray and 1 of pink. Thanks for all these contests!

April

Pink green yellow.....purple & blue for the two stripe. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year with all your men! :)

emily cossins

Raspberry pink with silver gray and charcoal is my suggestion.

Karin

I'd love to see any of the following:

Pink/brown/cream
Purple/grey/green
Pink/brown
Purple/grey

Angela

Black & red is my favorite combo but lately I'm more into brown & blue.

Melanie

Hot pink, light pink and a dash of white for the optimist. Blood red, black and a gray for the pessimist......or the naughty. :)

Karina

I think I'd like a pink and orange, or purple, yellow, and red combo.
Have a great Christmas.

SarahH

I'd like a combination of red, hot pink, and orange for Valentines

Jane

I don't know if it's even possible, but I would love to see a two color in pink and black, with the pink taking 6 to 8 rows and the black taking 2. For a three color, I thought of the minuet roses from when I married - have widest band in cream, next widest in rose pink, and a flash of green as the smallest stripe. I think that would be yummy!

Jane

And, by the way, thank you for the 12 days of Christmas contests - this has been fun. Wishing you and your family a sweet and merry Christmas with your two precious sons. These are the best of times!

Gale Longley

I think pick & red are nice together.

Andrea Walker

So many good ideas throughout all the comments. Valentines Day being my favorite holiday as it's our wedding anniversary!!! Red is definately my 1st choice for a Valentines color. I think mixed w/ a mocha brown. For 3 colors... add in a creamy white. On the other hand red/ dk green/ creamy white would also appeal to me. It's a bit Xmasy... but then the socks will be "multi-holiday". As long as all the colors are strong... I don't really care for pastels.
Happy Holidays to all the knitters + their family/ friends out there!!!
Thanks Allison for the fun I've had participating in this!!!

Lee

I would love to see a red, purple, white combination. For 2 stripes, how about pink and red?

Sue

Make it bright. I'm thinking orange, yellow and pink roses.

Martha

How about a deep red, with a rich purple and a hint of silvery gray. Happy Christmas to you and your family! Thanks for doing this again this year.

sophie

I'm thinking pink,lavender and chocolate.

Becky P

I like charcoal and bright pink for two or gray, lavendar and cream for three. Merry Christmas!

Linda Fristedt

For a two-stripe, I'd go with a dark blue and a light blue to reflect the blues that sometimes accompany an unrequited or ended love. Valentine gone wrong.
For a three-stripe, perhaps a purple for passion, shades of pink for the different levels of romance and some thinner stripes of white for contrast and symbolizing the purity with which our hearts quest for true love.

Tara

I think a purple with fuchsia and blue

Janene Reeves

A deep gorgeous red, some brown, and maybe an ecru!

Jean

I like kind of a chocolate covered cherry color--sort of brown, cream, and red.

Jeri Nicklau

I still love just red and white for Valentines day.

Barbara

Valentine's Day to me is shades of red. I love red; I favor a classic red rather than a cherry red. Personally, I like a red leaning towards orange rather than purple. Thank you for the 12 days of Christmas.
