On the 11th Day of Sock Yarn, Simply Sock Yarn gave to me...
A skein of Skein Sock in the Equinox colorway.
To have a chance at winning this beautifully kettle dyed skein directly from Australia, answer the following question in the comments below:
What's the top item on the Simply Socks Yarn Company wish list you keep filed away in your noggin? If you got to choose one (or heck, more than one... who am I kidding) thing that would magically arrive on your doorstep, what would it be? And if you are new to the shop and haven't yet looked through, take a look and tell us something that catches your eye.
If I had just 10 seconds to decide what I would immediately grab and take home with me, it would be a skein of Handmaiden/Fleece Artist's Swiss Mountain Sea Silk in the Beach House colorway, shown below. I love everything they dye in the Beach House colorway, and this particular dyelot looks awesome on this base.

Manos Alegra in the Locura Fluo colorway, or Sweet Georgia Cashluxe in Stella or a Run,Run,Run Malibu tote in Teal Solstice or......there's a never ending list of things I want and there's NO way to pick just one!

Oh my gosh it's hard to choose! I'd probably go with a yarn I haven't tried yet. Maybe the Swiss Mountain Sea Silk that you mentioned, Manos Del Uruguay Alegria Sock, Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere, Sweet Georgia, Silk Crush or CashLuxe Fine. My color prefernces change everyday. Today, I wouldn't mind having more gray yarn or blue/green variegated yarn. But tomorrow, ??????

I am easy to please - a skein of beautiful sock yarn from Simply Socks Yarn.

Oh my gosh, the sea silk. I've also been coveting it for a while but could never justify the cost (or find the perfect project).

I am really intrigued with the idea of Corriedale sock yarn, so I would love a skein of your Poste yarn.
Posted by: Julie | December 23, 2012 at 04:44 PM
My first choice would be Tanis Purple Label (I just made a sweater out of it and would love to do another!). I really like the Poste yarn too - I haven't knit with it yet, but I love those big fat stripes.

I am craving cashmere right now, so this is my pick: http://www.simplysockyarn.com/servlet/Detail?no=4931 (DIC SC Amethyst Ink)
Posted by: Alison | December 23, 2012 at 05:00 PM
I keep an eye out for BIrd leg bags and Continuum Striping yarn.
Posted by: Teresa | December 23, 2012 at 05:18 PM
I, too, like the Handmaiden Sea Silk Beach House, but I would also like to try the LL Solemate sock yarn.
Posted by: Beverly Shearon | December 23, 2012 at 05:34 PM
I would choose the Fleece Artist Thrum Kit, beach house. And then I would put it on my coffee table and not knit it for months...just admire the beautiful colours and textures.
Posted by: Maureen | December 23, 2012 at 05:49 PM
I've been eyeing that new Manos Alegria yarn. In the "Candombe" color would make some very snazzy socks!
Posted by: Christine | December 23, 2012 at 05:52 PM
It is easier to list what I don't want to knit with, but I really would like to try. Black Trillium in the sea glass color. All your yarns are gorg!
Posted by: nicky | December 23, 2012 at 06:32 PM
Top of my list right now - definitely the Tanis Fibre Arts Purple Label sock yarn. It sounds like it would be so soft, I'd love to knit a pair of socks with it.
Posted by: Debbie | December 23, 2012 at 06:33 PM
I would want one of the brands I haven't tried yet - like the new Manos or Handmaiden or Sweet Georgia or so many others. In any shade of blue... Even just trying to put together a wish list is hard because there are so many fabulous choices.
Posted by: Caroline | December 23, 2012 at 06:36 PM
I love knitting with Knit One, Crochet Too yarn so I have a lot of the colorways on my list. As well as Claudia Handpainted - I love how it knits up.
Posted by: Karen M | December 23, 2012 at 06:47 PM
That's tough, I'm pretty well stocked on all things Madelintosh and Dream in Color. Maybe something Miss Babs or Malbrigio.....
Posted by: Cynthia | December 23, 2012 at 06:51 PM
My wish list would be a Dream Club package.
Posted by: Cheryl | December 23, 2012 at 07:04 PM
Definitely Malabrigo Sock! Indecita or Caribeno or Ivy or Rayon Vert -----oh gosh -I love them all! Merry Christmas!
Posted by: amy g | December 23, 2012 at 07:06 PM
Pashmina, most definitely. Colorway? Can't decide between Wash & Spectrum
Posted by: Maria Wade | December 23, 2012 at 07:20 PM
You don't have it in stock right now, but I'd definitely go for the Arctic Qiviut. In fall colors. If I couldn't have that, the new Manos sock yarn in Pindo.
Posted by: Jennifer in NC | December 23, 2012 at 07:38 PM
I have been drooling over the Dream in Colour Starry Sock, so I would get a skein of that. Maybe several skeins, because I cannot decide what colour to pick.
Posted by: Karina | December 23, 2012 at 07:44 PM
My top choice would be a Poste yarn, and a skien of Pagewood Farms Denali in Lavendar Fields.
Posted by: SarahH | December 23, 2012 at 07:49 PM
I really like the apple blossom by hand maiden. Oh but I also just love Opal yarn. Have knit lots of socks for myself and family.
Posted by: Tracy | December 23, 2012 at 07:49 PM
Way too many choices, but would love to get some lorna laces, alegria sock or opal to just name a few.
Posted by: Donna | December 23, 2012 at 07:55 PM
Silk makes a yarn gorgeous....Handmaiden Swiss Mountain Sea Silk in Aurora or Wine would be on my list to make a shawl and would be so nice to have on my needles.
Posted by: Linda | December 23, 2012 at 08:16 PM
I think mine is the Tanis Fiber Arts Purple Label in Stormy.
Posted by: ikkinlala | December 23, 2012 at 08:27 PM
I'd love to visit your store sometime. Every time I'm diving near, it seems to be a maniacal sprint from MA home to IL and I pass you at aobut 10 PM. So in lieu of that, I always check your website for sale items, kits and accessories! But if you force me to choose, I'd also go for some Tosh DK in Cousteau or envy.
Posted by: Sara B. | December 23, 2012 at 08:46 PM
Mine is one of unique sheep gradiance sock yarn sets.
Posted by: Kate s | December 23, 2012 at 08:51 PM
Wow, you have too many wonderful yarns to keep just one on top. Every time you make a post I see something new I like. For example, the first skein picture in this blog is lovely. Last time I was browsing the site, pashmina in firewood caught me eye.
Posted by: Aimee | December 23, 2012 at 08:59 PM
My choice would have to be the Madelinetosh Pashmina. Cashmere, silk and wool yumminess!
Posted by: Tara | December 23, 2012 at 09:01 PM
So hard to choose..... but I've wanted to try Dream in Color's Starry for quite awhile. Choosing a skein of that would probably be my first choice. Qiviut would be a close 2nd. Followed by something with silk in it. So many choices.... lots to dream about tonite!!!
Posted by: Andrea Walker | December 23, 2012 at 09:19 PM
I'd love enough Three Irish Girls Glenhaven Cashmerino Kate to make a large shawl.
Posted by: LN in TX | December 23, 2012 at 09:30 PM
I love any of the Lorna's laces. The daffodil looks amazing, but i haven't given in yet. Green toes and cuffs would be very neat i think....
Posted by: Laura | December 23, 2012 at 09:40 PM
I want to try the Fleece Artist Hand Maiden Casbah yarn in Stardust. My second choice is any yarn in your shop that isn't orange!
Posted by: Jane | December 23, 2012 at 09:54 PM
I'm craving more Kollage square DPN's. Last time I was there I had my eye on Abstract's Portland. Or Sweet Georgia. Or MadTosh. Or... so many pretties!!
Posted by: Laura | December 23, 2012 at 09:54 PM
Now that you've shown me the swiss mountain sea silk - I have to admit I'm intrigued. It's beautiful...but I think I'd like to try the
Hand Maiden/Fleece Artist, Casbah: Ocean.

Definitely Tanis Purple label yarn. Love the stuff.
Posted by: Jalinn | December 23, 2012 at 10:18 PM
Oh so hard to do.... but right now the one I am wishing for is Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere Chocolate Night. I had it once and gifted it.
Posted by: Jeri Nicklau | December 23, 2012 at 10:18 PM
My pick is Madeline Tosh pashmina in the cove colorway.
Posted by: emily | December 23, 2012 at 11:01 PM
I tried, but there's just no way I could pick only one. I really want ALL of the yarn! :)
Posted by: Karin | December 23, 2012 at 11:11 PM
I would love to try the Swiss Mountain sea silk in walnut -something about those colors really appeals to me--I think it's the touch of blue with all the browns. I have to be honest, though, and say that it would be really hard to pick just one item from all your yarns! All of them "speak" to me--even if it's a color I don't particularly like, I think, "Wow, so-and-so would really like this/look good in this color." It's probably a good thing your shop is so far away that I can't visit - once I touch a yarn, I'm doomed!
Posted by: Danyelle N | December 23, 2012 at 11:13 PM
I would LOVE to try Three Irish Girls yarn. I haven't seen it anywhere in Texas......the Glenhaven, Bridget. It's really pretty colors.
Posted by: Sue J | December 23, 2012 at 11:50 PM
Anything with a bit of silk and cashmere....pashmina?
Posted by: Theresa | December 23, 2012 at 11:54 PM
Magically arriving on my doorstep? Well, I dream luxuriously and so Fleece Artist/Hand Maiden's Swiss Mountain Sea Sock is almost a no brainer. Though I usually go for Aurora-type colors, the Beach House colorway looks pretty tempting. I'd hope for about four skeins (luxury indeed) so I could attempt my first sweater. A fitting ambition for the new year. Thanks for the daydream, Allison.
